So why are your arms all tanned, but your hands are bone white? I wear these Billy Idol type gloves when I go bike riding. If I hit a bump it hurts my hands terribly, so the padding in those gloves helps cushion the blows. As a result, my arms get pretty tanned and my hands are pasty. Now that summer is here, it's about to get even worse. It's been unseasonably cool and overcast for this time of year, but that's already changing.

Could you do well in a race at this point? Without steroids of course. ;D

Without steroids of course. ;D It's almost an addiction, which I guess isn't a bad thing. My speed has gotten pretty good, but some of these weekend warrior cyclists are pretty extreme. I don't want to risk injuring myself or getting injured deliberately by some frustrated Lance Armstrong wannabe, doing something that's supposed to be recreational. It's basically why I don't play hockey anymore. However those endorphins work, it does feel like an addiction at times. But yes, I have done some researching about racing, and I think I could do it. One other cool thing about riding is, I actually have worn spandex for the first time. Maybe it'll inspire me to get into hair metal?

No Kiss spandex? ;D Whenever Christmas or my birthday rolls around, my family gets me Kiss trinkets. I've got the Pez dispensers and a Tommy Thayer thumb drive, which are cool. But if this atrocity ever shows up, NO WAY am I ever wearing it.

What if it comes in denim? ;D Way too hot here for denim. And to be honest I don't even wear that spandex contraption much. My bike seat isn't uncomfortable and those cycling shorts are like wearing a diaper.

Blackwell, good song. I'm not really into the whole instrumental/Satriani thing (which this reminds me of), but you pull this off really well, and your licks are tasty, classy, and sexy even (I dare say! lol)....Loved the cheesy down home video as well. Shows humor and class. Good stuff man. You're a super talented player/writer. Kudos.

I'm actually not into the Satriani thing myself (though I do have a ton of respect for him). I love writing songs, but if you heard my singing voice though, you'd understand why this is the best scenario for me at this time. I grew up addicted to music videos and I got tired of seeing the kids having all the fun making cheesy videos, so I figured I'd give it a go myself. Thanks for checking it out, and thanks for the nice words!

Can't be any worse than Austin's attempt at singing Queen. ;D Where the fuck is he by the way? He and Justin disappeared at the same time, gay lover suicide pact? ;D I must've missed Austin singing Queen; as for Justin, it's sad he seemed to disappear right around the time I reappeared. He and I were great email buddies for years, and then I just stopped hearing from him (which is a shame because I could have made him a fortune on the LA Kings last year). He liked the songs I released a few years ago, but I think these new ones are so much better. I'd like to get his take on them, because he was really getting on me for liking modern pop when I first came aboard. So Justin if you're out there, please reappear. And check out my new tunes on iTunes Australia.

This video was a great topic of discussion (and laughter) as Isis and I made our way to the Social Distortion show last night.

he was really getting on me for liking modern pop when I first came aboard. The playlist of shit he considered the essentials and he got on you about what you listen to? LOL I don't remember most of it - heavy on the Michael Jackson and Todd Rundgren from what I recall. And that live music was better than studio music. This video was a great topic of discussion (and laughter) as Isis and I made our way to the Social Distortion show last night. Awesome - just wait til you see the next one! Actually I'm trying to maintain priorities. I spend inordinate hours on these songs getting the rhythm tracks just right, getting the phrases structured, mixing, etc., and not even one battery charge on my cheap camera making the videos. But now that I'm brainstorming what theme to turn into a song, I find myself thinking, "Gee, I could do something really silly in the video for this one," and I start favoring that one. Probably skewed priorities, but oh well!

How is it you can have such a sense of humor about things like this, but then fell into a forum destroying rage over this: Honestly I don't even recall that. And really, why would I be offended by that? Do I look like that guy? Do I act like that guy? I can't play piano to save my life. It's funny, but I don't see any correlation to me.

Well, I could goad him further with that and jog the memory, but we're getting along fairly well...so I'll leave it to someone else. LOL. Looking forward to the next vid Blackwell.

I may be wrong here, but I think you made a similar comment about teaching young musicians more than just music - they need to be taught attitude as well or something like that. That young artists today need to know more than just playing music and have to be the full package with style and attitude too.

Honestly, and not to rile things up because it was stupid to begin with, but it was a good natured jab I threw your way and you completely lost your shit. According to Hey Man you wanted me dead or said you felt like you could kill me over it..? One. You'd have to ask him the specifics since it was an exchange betwixt you two. I struggle to wonder how none of that rings a bell. ;D It'd be like me saying "Julian who..?!"

"What are you doing to my guitar?". Blackwell replies, "Playing it for a change." That about sums it up! My biggest regret when I gave it to him was telling him not to screw the whammy bar in too tight. Which of course meant he went home and screwed it in as far as he could. Now the whole thing is stripped and it just dangles uselessly. He also asks me questions frequently about why guys smash guitars, so I'm prepared to see it in a million pieces someday. I regretfully did that when I was 12 when the pickups stopped working on my first electric (after I took it apart). It was a piece of crap, and I bought it myself but I still wish I had it for sentimental reasons.

No, I just like Blackwell more than I like you. You like almost everyone more than you like me. ;D Judging by your efforts to make people be 'nice' to him, I'd say you like him more than just about everybody. Well that's true - I pretty much do like everyone more than you. ;D

I hate to bring this back on topic , but I thought I'd share a couple of responses I found interesting. Someone on youtube commented that they would like to hear Richie Kotzen singing over this track, and I wondered if it was anyone here. And secondly, someone at a hockey site said it reminded them of this song by a Canadian artist I was unfamiliar with, named Kim Mitchell. I dug the song, so took it as a compliment.
