I haven't looked yet, but I bet the Hoffmanites are loving this batch. None of them black people or people making music with non-traditional instruments. This is about the most boring list they've come up with yet.

Oh wait, we did miss a black guy. The article forgot to mention Bill Withers.

And where the fuck is the J. Geils Band? CUNTS. ALL OF THEM. Sadly they're looked upon as an 80s flash-in-the-pan new wave band with 2 novelty hits in Freeze Frame and Centerfold. Fucking shame, their albums are fucking awesome. America's Stones. Should be in for having a guy called Magic Dick in the band alone. ...and let's not forget Love Stinks. LMFAO. Blow Your Face Out is my fave live album of all time. BRILLIANT.

No Moody Blues, Procol Harum, Chicago, ELO, The Cure, The Cars, Depeche Mode, Iron Maiden, Journey, Thin Lizzy, New York Dolls, T Rex, The Zombies, Steve Miller Band... Laughable isn't it? Especially for bands like Moody Blues and Chicago who LONG AGO cemented their right to be in the HOF>

I knew there would be some hell raised about Joan Jett getting inducted. I think she should be in at some point, but not before some of the overlooked bands mentioned above. Maybe next year?
For American Idiot alone Green Day deserves to be in (but again not before overlooked bands).

For American Idiot alone Green Day deserves to be in (but again not before overlooked bands). She has done nothing to warrant inclusion. Had couple hits doing cover songs? Wow, awesome. What is her significant contribution to rock and roll? What has she done that's worthy of being in a museum? But what about Do You Wanna Touch??....aw, fucking hell

Eh, I get Joan Jett though. Is she any kind of musical pioneer? Nah, not really. But she is hugely iconic as an "empowered chick in rock," and that gives her at least as much influence as, I dunno, KISS. I mean, granted, I'd say KISS's musical impact is much bigger than hers, but you can't deny her being influential in a pretty important way anyhow.

but you can't deny her being influential in a pretty important way anyhow. How so? What'd she do that wasn't done before? Rocker chick in leather, ok, Suzi Quatro beat ya to it by a few years... Sure, but the Hall seems rather US-centric, and Suzi wasn't really known for much here. I know she was huge pretty much everywhere else, and probably had a decent-sized "underground" US following, but otherwise she's known as Fonzie's girlfriend and for one big soft-rock hit with "Stumblin' In." Neither exactly will win you a lot of cool points. I'd say Joan gets the over on Suzi based on more familiarity to American audiences alone.
