watched 'thor' tonight. i was entertained, truth be told. i think much of my enjoyment had to do with the "fish out of water" element, which was good for some laughs ala 'star trek IV'. for that reason, i'm not sure i'd enjoy a sequel as much, since that'd no longer apply. nonetheless, i'd still put it ahead of most superhero flicks i've seen, which admittedly ain't saying much..... Thor was very entertaining - nothing wrong with liking that movie. It was well done for what it was.

I saw Bridesmaids and Horrible Bosses. Good. Nothing more, nothing less. I expected Horrible Bosses to be funnier, but it did have a great cast and there were a few funny moments. I think both films dragged on a bit, both IMO would have benefitted being a little shorter. My wife and I really dug Bridesmaids, but Horrible Bosses wasn't as good as it could have been. Plus I detest Jennifer Aniston. I just saw The Change Up with Jason Bateman and Ryan Reynolds and really enjoyed it.

I also think Jennifer Aniston is the most bland actress in movies. She has (had?) nice breasts, but it stops there for me. The ONLY reason why she took that movie is to make people think that she can be dirty too - since people are tired of her playing her Friends character over and over again.

It that deal (particularly with couples) that each give themselves one 'freebie' with a particular celebrity of their choice and their partner would okay the liaison. Whilst I love Angie, my first choice would be the gal in my avatar.

I'm still on a documentary kick lately. The last one I watched was The Freshest Kids: The History of the B Boy. Which was mostly about the break dancing craze in the early 80s and was totally worth watching just to see Re Run.
I also watched one called Radical Harmonies that was DESCRIBED on netflix as being about Women's Music but REALLY was only about Mid Western Lesbian Women's Music....not that there is anything inherently wrong with Mid Western Lesbian Women's Music but I was expecting to be a bit more all incompassing rather than focus on a tiny segment of a small segment of music that no one listens to.

if it wasn't for caine's appearance on 'the daily show' a little while back, i never would've heard of the movie....so props to them. it snuck its way into my netflix queue & i couldn't pass it up. although it has the "vigilante" angle ala 'death wish', i guess it was unfair to label it that way.....IMO 'harry brown' was bleaker, grittier, and at times sleazier.

Just watched Drive with Ryan Gosling and it was great. If you like Michael Mann, you will love this movie. It's very Mann inspired.

I was considering a separate thread on this movie/characters but opted not to. I'm a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fan. Loved them as a kid, still love them now though I never got into the new-phase of TMNT. I watched this on the weekend (yes, save your laughter): en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TMNT:_Turtles_Forever - it was a made for TV movie and it was a cross over of the turtles of yesteryear and their current incarnation. I liked it. Fun movie and I enjoyed the concept. I haven't seen the 2007 CGI film but I may have to look into it. Watching this was a stark reminder I don't like where they took the characters looks wise - the only welcome change was Shredder. The new one looked bad ass. The evil guys always look cooler.
