In theatres - Breaking Dawn. Yes, save your laughter.
At home - I believe it was Election. Hadn't seen it before so I thought it was about time.
Unrelated but I'll mention it anyway, in terms of T.V shows I have been watching buckets of Family Guy and will soon be trying Sons of Anarchy. I've had someone recommend I watch it.

In all seriousness, if you've sat through the other films I can say this is better. You'll probably enjoy the second half more than anything. And a tip for you and your wife, wait until some of the credits have rolled.

I Spit On Your Grave, both the original and remake back-to-back. Good god man, how much rape can you stand in one go ?

I'm a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fan. Loved them as a kid, still love them now though I never got into the new-phase of TMNT. I watched this on the weekend (yes, save your laughter): en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TMNT:_Turtles_Forever - it was a made for TV movie and it was a cross over of the turtles of yesteryear and their current incarnation. I liked it. Fun movie and I enjoyed the concept. I haven't seen the 2007 CGI film but I may have to look into it. Yeah, this post is months old, but I caught Turtles Forever on TV last Thanksgiving and enjoyed it too. I never caught many episodes of the new TMNT series, but the ones I did see seemed like pretty decent stuff (as these type of things go) even if it wasn't quite like the original series. Otherwise, made the girlfriend watch More American Graffiti with me last night - mainly because it's a New Year's movie and I just happened to think of it. The original is one of my favorite movies ever, though this sequel is riddled with problems that weigh down what could have been a much better movie. But eh, it's enjoyable enough to not deserve the complete-failure reputation it's got and I still like to pull it out now and then. Earlier in the week the GF made me watch The Hangover 2, which I didn't think was awful...but I've never really seen the first one (DVD from Redbox fucked up about 30 minutes into it), so the sequel didn't have the "exactly the same movie as the first" problems that most critics seem to cite for me.

Finally got around to watching The Town. I loathed Ben Affleck for a long time, but he's done great work as a director, gotta give him his due. Still, that fucking awful sci fi piece of shit he did with Bruce Willis and that terrible Aerosmith song (what the fuck was that one called?) terrible... Ah the Michael Bay brilliance of Armageddon. What a piece of shit.

Ah the Michael Bay brilliance of Armageddon. What a piece of shit. That's the one, fuck that was awful. That was bad by Michael Bay standards. That was the Affleck I hated, his entire performance back then and in other shit films he did seemed to consist of nothing more than staring directly into the camera and smiling. Didn't come around to being an actual human until he did that Superman flick. You didn't like him in Good Will Hunting, where Damon and Affeck won an Oscar for Best Screeplay?

That was an anomaly. All that crap like Daredevil, fucking Gigli, shitty Kevin Smith films (they all are), Pearl Harbor, that awful Jack Ryan film he did. What kind of douche does shit like that? Only John Travolta picks worse films than he was doing. Do you cringe when your friends ask you if want to go see a movie and they tell you what they want to see?

Saw The Decendants today. Quality flick about a dysfunctional family trying to keep itself together after George Clooney's character's wife is critically injured. Lots of layers here. Poignant, often funny....occasionally terribly sad. Felt very real.

Got dragged to New Years Eve today...err, yesterday...dear God that was BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAD. I mean, Valentine's Day wasn't even that good so what was the point of a sequel?

Watching a bunch of things I've long been meaning to see during my break.
Think I already mentioned these - Scream 4, My Left Foot and the documentary on Anvil.
And because I'm behind on the times I finally watched the Iron Maiden documentary today.
Not a movie, but I smashed through the latest season of Dexter. What an amazing show.

One question though, what is the fucking point of rereleasing Titanic in 3D? It sucked hard enough as originally intended. Yes, once they hit the big 'ol chunk of ice and chaos ensues the movie is entertaining (minus the terrible shit called a plot that keeps getting in the way) but the 90 minutes of extreme torture and terrible writing that leads up to that point is unbearable. Seeing as (shit, was about to say next year and I forgot it's already 2012!) this year marks the 100th anniversary of the sinking I imagine that factors in. It's a decent movie to watch every once in a while. If the movie had solely focused on the sinking I don't think it would have been much of a movie, hence the love story being a huge chunk of the film. I have an interest in all things Titanic so I hope they'll be running a ton of documentaries around April. And back to the topic, I watched Caddyshack today.

I always thought Paramount got it right back in the day by splitting it up into 2 VHS tapes. As long as you just threw away the first tape and pretended it didn't exist, the 2nd tape was a great flick.

Watched Thor last night. While it wasn't Daredevil, Fantastic 4 or Ghost Rider level, it certainly wasn't anything I'd ever want to see again and I'm glad I didn't pay to see it. One of my wife's friends is in town and wants to go see The Muppets tomorrow, I grew up with the Muppets, love 'em, but the trailer for this film does nothing for me. I hope he flakes, LOL You are not a leave your brain at the door every once in a while and just go with it kind of guy are you?

Watched Contagion last night. I love these kinds of movies, dug it a lot, good stuff. It's rare I like a Soderbergh film. Really - I think he's made a lot of great films. I love Out Of Sight.

Really - I think he's made a lot of great films. I love Out Of Sight. I liked The Informant!, Out Of Sight was really good, I think I'm the only person on the planet that liked Kafka. Erin Brokovich was alright, Oceans 11 was decent fluff, it's just that for everything decent he does he has some horrid piece of shit like Girlfriend Experience, Che, those Oceans sequels or Traffic to counteract it. Damn, I dug Traffic.

Took the kids to see Chipmunks 3 Chipwrecked today. Fun movie.
Saw Mission Impossible, Ghost Protocol last week. For me, the best of the series, and that's from someone who actually worked on MI2.

I have been hearing nothing but positive reviews from friends and co-workers. Will have to check this out. I watched Fright Night (the 2011 release). I really enjoyed it. Was concerned there would be a focus on gory scenes and discovered I didn't really have to hide behind my hand. If Colin Farrell was my neighbour I'd be pretty darn happy. I'd let the whole 'vampire thing' slide.

Last movie I watched was the documentary 'Dark Days' from 2000, which focused on the homeless living underneath the New York subway systems.
