For the most part, I'm only posting new records. Yipes. Were these albums you took a test drive with from your library and then bought because they were good?

For the most part, like any good metalhead, I just buy the new albums from artists I like. Spinning the new Deicide now.....whilst the pasta bakes.

That's one thing I never got into...death metal. The 'vocals' are just annoying. About as heavy as I went was Fear Factory, Sepultura, Pantera, Slayer, etc. Not so much the belch bands, though... My high school buds got into the death metal bands, though.
Didn't one of those bands not even bother with actual lyrics? Like Obituary or someone? Was utterly pointless to have lyrics when you literally couldn't understand what they were belching 90% of the time anyhow.

Singers need to actually be able to sing on some level in a traditional sense in my book. Death metal often comes across like a parody.

Carcass, for a time, just bellowed out autopsy reports. But most of the bands you've named are pretty calm vocally compared to what's going on nowadays.

The bands I named are the ones I like(d) because they still have some sort of singing going on, even if screaming. I just googled it and seems my memory served me right. I can't speak to the validity of it because I never followed them, but I do recall one of my death metal buds saying similar back in the day...

Closer to this would be Napalm Death's early works.

I would arguably respect them not wasting their time with what's completely indecipherable anyhow. Whether they say jack shit, something completely retarded, or the most profound lyrics of all time, it ultimately sounds like a big, wet fart.

Question for the collectors of vinyls here. I seem to recall back in the day - the back of album covers had a sort of design like this: it would be say like Hi Fi in the boxes, etc. Am I crazy or do you know what I mean? Any examples with your vinyl?

LOL. See the little boxed sections talking about font shit. Well I recall that there was a similar box design that instead of font shit - it had vinyl shit like Hi Fi and I guess other descriptions of the recording. I realize though that this may be before your time. I just thought perhaps you have seen what I am talking about in your vinyl travels.

Any examples with your vinyl? You’re talking about records from the 50’s and 60’s. That doesn’t mean anything. It’s just a description of nothing.

I am working on something.

I love this album, but hate that the vinyl doesn't include my favorite song from it, which was a 'bonus track' on the CD and cassette...I don't understand why they didn't include it on this reissue, though.

My copy of Digital Underground Sex Packets on OG Swedish vinyl is missing half of Doowutchalyke which totally sucks...and only the cassette version had Gutfest '89.
