say it isn't so... True Blood coming back.. What For ? More bold and the beautiful meets whatever else crap you'd like to think of.
If ever there was a show that deserved to be ended early it's True Blood.
True Blood doesn't have a Peter Falk type calibre actor no shit neither does days of our lives.
Been bangin through some actually decent T.V. recently with " Game of thrones " season 2 and i can easily highly recommend this show.
La Law repeats are back on T.V. at longggggggggggggggggg last.
Now just to get " The Practice " re runs on T.V. somewhere.
Boston Public is another fantastic show worthy of a marathon sit down.
The polar opposite of that would be sitting through a marathon session of True Blood.
I'd rather watch a marathon of " Passions " than True Blood.
The Good Wife.
" The whole truth " is another goodie to catch at late night.

True Blood doesn't have actors like Peter Falk, so it automatically sucks. ;D Even worse it has an actress in it who won a Best Supporting Actress Oscar. What a bullshit show. You only originally mentioned that it had an oscar winning actress, you tellingly left out that it was only surprise surprise a best support actress oscar... which is like a bronze medal at the olympics.

Just sayin that the Columbo episodes were of T.V. Movie length..... don't forget that.
Not talking about a show like True blood that is lucky if it runs half the length of your average Columbo episode in which Anna Pacquin appears in a fraction of that screen time say maybe say 5 to 10 mins an episode.
Imagine Columbo with Peter Falk in it for only a handful of mins each episode.
Even if Peter Falk was a one trick pony which is completely asinine but even if he were what a one trick pony he was, one of if not the greatest T.V. stars of all time easilly.

Poor old Justin is a bored little fucker again attempting to stir up shit with the same old shit he used a year ago. I've never really marathoned any shows. I just get too restless and want to go and do something else after an hour or two.

I do believe no TV show wins oscars. Justin Peter Falk is a fine actor and I loved columbo growing up. Game of Thrones is awesome, I've even made "Dinklage Pride" T-shirts because of my love of his portrayal of the Tyrion. And I've seen most of those shows (minus the soaps) in their entirety and I tend not to re-watch shows, I'd rather discover new ones. As for Anna Pacquinn being on-screen a total of "5 to 10 minutes an episode" it's an ENSEMBLE show just like Game of Thrones, did you get upset that Eddard Stark wasn't the entire focus of season 1 or did you just try and lose yourself in the world? Of course, True Blood is not for everyone and that's just fine.

I do believe no TV show wins oscars. We know. There is a long history here that you are unaware of. Justin deems himself the arbiter of people's standards. If he thinks something is good, it is absolutely not to be challenged and he gets upset if you do so. If he thinks something is bad, it is impossible that anyone else can like or rate it and he gets upset if you do so. This goes for anything...music, movies, actors, guitarists, songs, albums. He posts long, rambling posts full of nonsense to back up his claims until he's banned from the forum (this has happened many times on many forums). Enjoy his company. You need to also inform Cducharme about specific words/terms and their definitions.

If a supporting actor award is unimportant, then actually losing twice for said award should be undeniable proof of an actors worthlessness. Therefore, Peter Falk = talentless glass eyed fuckwit. Somehow he didn't manage to even get nominated for the masterpiece Corky Romano! You raise a very valid point!

Peter Falk a one trick Pony !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee Explainnnnnnnnnnn ? Go read about his career on wikipedia for christ sake. Nothing much of note beyond a tired role as a P.I. He was known for one character = one trick pony. Rubbish. I guess Lucille Ball also did nothing much of note beyond a tired role on I love Lucy ! Rediculous. Peter Falk was best known for the role on Columbo does not equate to him being a one trick pony if you read his career history as an actor. Peter Falk also was on a show with the greatest guest stars you would ever like to see on a T.V. show and more than held his own in fact often outshined his co stars. Seriously who has Anna Pacquin got to compete with as an actress on True Blood ? Research the calibre of actor's that were on Columbo as guest stars and i rest my case. The episodes are all movie-length, between 70 and 100 minutes long. The series was once broadcast on over 80 networks, spanning 44 countries. In 1997, "Murder by the Book" was ranked No. 16 on TV Guide's 100 Greatest Episodes of All Time.[4] and in 1999, the magazine ranked Lt. Columbo No. 7 on its 50 Greatest TV Characters of All Time list.Guest stars[edit] MurderersPatrick McGoohan appeared in a record four episodes of Columbo. Robert Culp and Jack Cassidy both appeared three times as murderers. Culp appeared a fourth time as the father of a killer. Ray Milland, George Hamilton, William Shatner, Robert Vaughn, Joyce Van Patten, Patrick O'Neal and Ed Begley, Jr. all appeared in two episodes. Hamilton and Shatner played the killer both times. Vaughn played both a killer and a victim. Milland played both killer and the husband of a victim. Van Patten played the killer in one episode and a nun (who mistakes Columbo for a hobo while he is interviewing someone in a soup kitchen) in another episode. Begley played both an animal control officer (innocent third party) and a killer. Coleman appeared as a murderer and in an earlier episode as a cop working on a case with Columbo. Greg Evigan plays a would-be murderer and also a victim in the same episode. Actors who have played murderers on the show include: Anthony Andrews Eddie Albert Richard Basehart Anne Baxter Gene Barry Patrick Bauchau Ed Begley, Jr. Theodore Bikel Honor Blackman Ian Buchanan Stephen Caffrey Johnny Cash John Cassavetes Jack Cassidy Claudia Christian Susan Clark Dabney Coleman Billy Connolly Robert Conrad Jackie Cooper Lindsay Crouse Robert Culp Tyne Daly Faye Dunaway Hector Elizondo Greg Evigan José Ferrer Robert Foxworth Ruth Gordon Lee Grant George Hamilton Laurence Harvey Gary Hershberger Louis Jourdan Katherine Justice Richard Kiley Martin Landau Janet Leigh Ross Martin Roddy McDowall Patrick McGoohan Vera Miles Ray Milland Sal Mineo Ricardo Montalban Leonard Nimoy Patrick O'Neal Donald Pleasence James Read Clive Revill Matthew Rhys William Shatner Helen Shaver Andrew Stevens Fisher Stevens Rip Torn Trish Van Devere Dick Van Dyke Joyce Van Patten Robert Vaughn George Wendt Oskar Werner Nicol Williamson VictimsIda Lupino appeared twice, once as victim and once as the spouse of a victim. John Dehner appeared twice, once as victim and once as a third party. Tim O'Connor appeared twice, once as a shady lawyer and once as victim. Leslie Nielsen appeared twice, once as victim and once as the boyfriend of the murderer. Dean Stockwell appeared twice, once as victim and once as a third party. Robert Vaughn appeared twice, playing a killer and a victim. John Chandler and Don Gordon played dupes who assisted the primary murderer and were themselves murdered later. Greg Evigan plays a would-be murderer and also a victim in the same episode. Steve Forrest plays an intended victim who is coincidentally killed in an accident, but the car bomb intended for him kills another person. Pippa Scott played someone who was accidentally killed instead of the intended victim. Will Geer is an intended victim whose life Columbo saves. Barbara Colby played a victim, albeit not the intended victim, but rather a potential blackmailer who is killed for that reason. Sian Barbara Allen, Poupée Bocar and Chuck McCann's characters were likewise killed (in different episodes) for attempting blackmail. Actors who have appeared as victims include: Lola Albright Sian Barbara Allen Richard Anderson Lew Ayres Poupée Bocar Sorrell Booke Antoinette Bower John Chandler Barbara Colby Anjanette Comer Pat Crowley John Dehner Bradford Dillman Stephen Elliott Greg Evigan Joel Fabiani Fionnuala Flanagan Nina Foch Anne Francis Charles Frank Michael V. Gazzo Carmine Giovinazzo Don Gordon James Gregory Deidre Hall Peter Haskell Sam Jaffe John Kerr Jack Kruschen Laurence Luckinbill Ida Lupino Janet Margolin Chuck McCann Rue McClanahan Martin Milner Rosemary Murphy Leslie Nielsen Tim O'Connor Albert Paulsen Nehemiah Persoff Martha Scott Pippa Scott Martin Sheen Tom Simcox Mickey Spillane Paul Stewart Dean Stockwell Ken Swofford Forrest Tucker Bonnie Van Dyke Robert Vaughn Lesley Ann Warren John Williams Jeff Yagher Anthony Zerbe

Of course, True Blood is not for everyone and that's just fine. You know the score. Just explain the no oscar for T.V. shows to Dute and were all done with this debate. Just quitely mention Peter Falk has won several meaningful awards the equivelant of oscar in T.V. land Please educate Dute were i have somehow failed thus far. You'll notice a nice twisting of the facts about Meryl Streep above, take a closer look at Wikipedia. Surprise surprise her noms / wins for best support actress were at the beginning of her career, if she won that award today it would almost well would be a complete come down for her. In 1999, Streep was awarded The George Eastman Award, given by George Eastman House for distinguished contribution to the art of film.[95] Streep holds the record for the most Academy Award nominations of any actor, having been nominated 17 times since her first nomination in 1979 for her performance in The Deer Hunter (fourteen for Best Actress and three for Best Supporting Actress) – five more than both Katharine Hepburn and Jack Nicholson, who are tied in second place.[96] With her third Oscar win for her performance as Margaret Thatcher in The Iron Lady (2011) in 2012, Streep became the fifth performer to receive three Academy Awards: Nicholson, Ingrid Bergman and Walter Brennan all earned three, while Hepburn won four.[97] In 2009, Streep became the most-nominated performer in Golden Globe Awards history when her double lead actress nods for Doubt (2008) and Mamma Mia! (2008) gave her 23 in total, breaking the tie with Jack Lemmon who had received 22 lead nominations until his death in 2001.[98] The following year, Streep surpassed Jack Nicholson and Angela Lansbury with six Golden Globe awards wins each after receiving her seventh Globe for her performance as Julia Child in Julie & Julia (2009).[98] In 2012, she broke her own record when she garnered her 26th nomination and overall eighth win for The Iron Lady at the 69th Golden Globe Awards. For me i got Best actor Best support actor a distant third Best actress somewhere way down here is best support actress.

I have, nothing particularly impressive there imo.
People often talk in sentimental terms when someone dies, that's all I see. He was on a popular show, still a one trick pony.
No idea who she even is, I never watched an episode of True Blood in my life.
Case reopened.
That just shows how popular the tv show was. I doubt ole glass eye was why they appeared. It's more of a testament to the writer than to Peter Fuck imo. When all is said and done, to look back at the show is like watching paint dry. Fuck's routine is tired.
Yes it was a popular show. You know we had a crap show here called The Bill, EVERYONE has appeared on it and I do mean everyone. It doesn't make the show or main cast spectacular in any way, in fact it was rubbish, the topic of many jokes.

Other actors played Columbo before Peter Falk. Peter Falk popularised that character like few other T.V. character's in the whole history of television.
Obviously i'd be remiss of me to not give a mighty tip of the hat too Steven Bochco.
You've never heard of Anna Pacquin or watched True Blood is seriously lucky for you as your not missing anything i assure you whole heartedly.
Did my fav actress from Prime Suspect make guest appearances on The Bill ??
Who are these noteable actors that appeared on The Bill ?

My daughter and I both loved the months long marathon of all ten seasons of
Stargate: SG1
So now we're on to
Stargate: Atlantis
Two great shows.
There's nothing like watching a TV series on DVD - no commercials, and you don't have to wait a week to get to the next episode.
My wife and I recently did marathons of Castle and Bones, but we're wating for the DVD releases of the current season for each show.

I would so love to be able to marathon through The Practice first season to last commercial free.

I'm a filthy pirate, I only wait until the show's aired once then get it As for Stargate the shows, I never did care too much for them (I DID try watching them right after the movie and the lack of Kurt did it I think). Nowhere near as action packed as the movie
