Ok, watched the premiere of season 5. Not impressed. Really, I've got about two more episodes of patience in me before I give up. This show was always campy, but it's long since veered into ridiculousness. There's no atmosphere any more. Hell, there aren't any humans anymore. It was cool when we didn't know what Sam was, etc. Now everyone's shape shifting and has some power or another. It's losing nuance. And you bring this up and all the ladies come back with is "well you see Eric naked." LOL. That pretty much tells me, "You're right, the show sucks, but Redshoe Diaries, Queer As Folk, and The L Word aren't on anymore, so...." I know three women who watch this solely for the naked guys and that's perfectly fine, but it's no better than the ladies version of some guy's favorite T&A show, like Baywatch. True Blood used to be sexy AND it was also a quality TV show that was edgy and cool. I couldn't wait to see what happened next and now I'm wondering if the hour is up yet. I have a friend Matt who hates the show, but he's always hated it since day 1, so his rants on facebook haven't changed. I get ragged by some folks for thinking it slipped, but at least I come from the place of having been a big fan of it. Disappointed. That is one thing I did complain about by season 3. Everyone was 'something' a shifter, a wizard, a witch, a warewolf, a warepanther.. where was is it going to end? As I mentioned earlier in the thread I thought it was a good ep, but there was something missing from it. I've got a feeling things are going to pick up, and if not, naked Eric, Alcide and Bill will have to suffice. ;D

I get ragged by some folks for thinking it slipped, but at least I come from the place of having been a big fan of it. Disappointed. Yes, True Blood hit a slump last year, I've agreed with you about that every time you've mentioned it. But I also think that while there were some issues with last season: Jason being strapped to the bed half the season, the quick wrap up of fairy land, Marnie and Arlene's damn baby. There was still a lot that I really enjoyed about it: the Sookie/Eric/Bill triangle, the Hoyt/Jason/Jessica triangle, Lafayette and Jesus, Tara's story line, Alcide and Sam fighting the wolf pack, any scene with Pam, ect. It's not mearly naked Eric, (tho that doesn't hurt a bit) Some of the story lines dragged on too long last year and the tone has changed from the first few seasons but there are still a lot of the story lines that intrigue me. I'm still enjoying it enough to continue watching it. So I'll say it's my Walking Dead: we both disliked a lot about the first season of that show but tho you agreed with me about a lot of the problems of the first season you saw enough you liked to keep interested and enjoyed the second season. I watched a couple of episodes of the second season and found more of the same things I didn't like about Season one so I tuned out.

Haven't you heard? Chris Meloni is on it now, so it's the greatest thing of the past 5 years. (Don't get all uppity Justin I know you didn't say exactly that, I'm exaggerating for a joke)

Well I was hardly talking about just you, as I know lots of people who watch this show. Like Justin who watches it religiously, only because it has terrible actors, awful writing and no redeeming qualities whatsoever. That's the reason I watch t.v shows.

Bruce save me from a True Blood with John Stamos! Also, Meloni is great and all, but if you dangle even a medium paycheck in his face he'll do anything and proudly show his pecker doing so (anyone else seen a little show called OZ?). Now will he do good in True Blood. Probably, I've been looking forward to his being on it since I found out months ago. But saying it's poorly cast just shows how little attention Justin has paid to any episodes, seems like his opinion is based on internet opinion. Also, Tera is just a crying wench (at least after season 1 and before some of season 4), I hope being turned finally brings the badass character I KNOW she could be out. I just don't think Retina has the ability, and that really sucks. Lafayette will be awesome this season, while maybe not his super fun flamboyant self, I think he'll be a pivotal character this season. Will Chris Meloni do well on True Blood ? I see nothing slightly probable about it. That's like questioning wether Jimmy Smits would do well on NYPD Blue albeit one difference being he was actually joining an already somewhat decent show. Chris Meloni brings some serious power with him to add to this show and hopefully his mere presence alone will pick the true blood shit up off the ground. Anna Pacquin is good but plays one of the most annoying roles on T.V. everytime she talks you have to hit the mute button. The virgin vampire is a cute character, Deborah anne woll. One or two other decent character's on the show. Alexander Skaarsgaard is a clear stand out of the current actors on the show. Almost all the rest of the cast are very disposable. Ryan Kwanten would be a prime example. The casting is basically done with only Tweenie bopper t.v. viewing girls in mind or housewives or what not. Chris Meloni undoubtedly adds much needed meat to the bare bone.

True Blood has potential otherwise i wouldn't care about Chris Meloni joining i would just be bemoaning him joining this shit and it being completely beneath him only but he gives True Blood some sort of chance of being a credible, respectable and less nauseating ridiculous fest of a show. If Chris Meloni makes it more watchable with the titties to perve at on the side as an entre instead of it being the main course than that's a very good thing.

Depends when E.R. went off the screen and 5 years is a long ... ish time but with Chris Meloni joining True Blood it could i repeat COULD elevate True Blood to the type iof status you use for a joke. E.R. undoubtedly left a huge whole in T.V. land when it ended.

Chris Meloni is going to make most of the rest of the cast seem so second rate it's not funny. The truth is he is way to good to be on this show this show is completely beneath him. Funny. He would have to have auditioned so it seems like he wanted to be there. Yeah, how terrible of him being on a hit t.v show watched and loved by millions. Please also direct us to Chris Meloni's Academy Award. Thanks. Please point us to the best support actress academy award ;D ;D

You need to stop mentioning women, dute. He doesn't like them. Still worth mentioning though, right? They're still good for 'only one thing'.

Still worth mentioning though, right? They're still good for 'only one thing'. It's all about him. Imagine what his former partner went through. It's probably gone now, but I remember one thread at the Faq where he was moaning that he had a second child on the way and was complaining about how their money was going to be spent on "everyone but me". People were staggered. Oh dear.

Julianna won best actress in T.V. land so take that. Oscar trumps them all. Sorry. Fact. WHY ? Best Actor or Best actress i might tend to agree otherwise less so or actually not at all IMO. No fact just my opinion. Best actor / actress in T.V. land is atleast the equal of a support female oscar. Playing a recurring role on T.V. has it's merits opposed to just one role over a couple of hours albeit the months of work prior and during shooting that goes into developing and perfecting a role i.e. Denzel Washington in any of his movies e.g. The Hurricane or any Tom Hanks film e.g. Forest gump or pretty much any Meryl Streep film where she is the lead actress. I give the highest credit to an award won by the examples and similar i.e. robert De niro, al Pacino etc etc. Some True Blood actress that won best support actress not so much..

..... ....... hahahahahahahahahahaha Yes, it's a huge injustice, she's out to destroy him, all he did was not show up for work for over a month... You all don't get it. While that is somewhat true that i was absent , we can debate length but the main point is for everything i did she never fired me until the opportune time came when i walked out of the office. She knowingly fired a depressed person. She always offers help that looks like help. Tom buys me an IPOD speaker set which looks helpful, looks generous, looks good in the eyes of other people like my other brother's and to my essentially brainwashed mum but what does that do he also brought me an ipod now knowing i am depressed, knowing that i would self destruct, knowing that i was bored shitless in a boring place knew that by buying an ipod i would bury myself and create debt while over time as he's the most patient guy you ever met that i would create stress on myself and eventually explode. Now you see better. So buying me an ipod is not JUST buying me an ipod, this guy ( Tom ) thinks on a whole other level like you would not believe, buying me an ipod was a tool to HELP me self destruct.... He knew i would eventually walk out. Why not ever fire me before as with the termination letter states so many fireable offences.... WHY only after i had walked out... only so as his ass is legally covered that was the only consideration and they MOM and TOM plotted it for a long.... long ... long.... long.... How can you plot something like that... that's the level of thinking this guy is on it is unheard of.
