Great tracks from a great album!! Yep. It's shame this lineup couldn't hold it together. The follow-up and even the albums without Sammy are pretty good ('Mean' is rubbish though), but the debut is by far their best work.

Wait youthanasia is your favorite? At least it's not like you said risk, but man that album disappointed me so hard

Why? It's not as fast or thrashy as RiP or Peace Sells, but for mine there's not a bad song on it.
I also dig The World Needs A Hero, which I consider criminally overlooked. What do you think of that one?
For Megadeth albums I really don't like, look no further than Thirteen and Stupor Collided. No wonder Chris Broderick quit if that was the best material Dave could come up with.

I'm not a fan of the stylistic changes and the songs aren't as GOOD as the rest of the earlier output. And if you think it's thrash or bust with me, it's not. I LOVED cryptic writings (in fact that is my favorite album by them) and even didn't mind the World Needs A Hero album. Nothing on youthanasia struck me as particularly good.

Cryptic Writings is great. Yes. Yes it is. Almost Honest is a top five Megadeth song for me.

Love this band - more than The Beatles and The Stones, who are great themselves.

Love this band - more than The Beatles and The Stones, who are great themselves. All three were equally important in shaping what many of us love about rock and roll. My college aged self learned this in the 90s when I lost interest in most new music and decided to learn more about the bands who influenced my favourites. One of my closest friends at the time was very into The Who (he probably still is- we've not had much contact since the turn of the century) and lent me the entire catalogue, including Pete Townshend's solo material. What an amazing journey that was, pun intended.

I am offended you ignore me..I'd say you're giving me the Peter treatment, but if that were the case, you'd at least say something shitty back to me... Jeez!
