Is this a fair assessment? A friend described it that way over lunch recently and I cannot disagree.
Unlike Chuck Lorre's other best known show, the execrably sexist and offensive Two And A Half Men, I can at least watch bits of TBBT and be mildly amused for a few minutes before I flip channels for a repeat of The IT Crowd. The 'jokes' wear thin very fast though.

The 'jokes' wear thin very fast though. Absolutely fair assessment. Everyone I know who should love the show if it was done properly - absolutely hates it and doesn't feel that the show speaks for them, but the general public loves it.
