Nobody cares besides me, but what the hell...
I dig the album. It's easily the best album Butch has done since LOSC. I'd happily take more albums like this. That said, I think it sounds more like a great Butch solo album than an M3 album. I suppose it's not too realistic to expect the sound not to change after 25 years. KISS didn't sound like their classic selves after much less time had passed.
My only nitpick is there are too many mellow songs. I like the songs, but the album should be longer if that many mellow tunes are gonna be on it. It's 10 songs and 34 min...4 of the songs are on the mellow side.

On past M3 albums, did the other guys actually do some writing with Butch or was it always Butch doing everything? It is too bad that it doesn't really sound like an M3 album. I guess he would have made this album anyway if the other guys weren't there. Do you think this will be the last M3 album or has he stated as such?

All their albums, Butch is the only song writer credited. How much the others influence the songs, I dunno.
I don't think this album would have come out as a Butch album, though. Any of the songs on it, sure...but the whole album as is, I don't think. The songs would be spread out over like 3 albums with more singer/songwriter-y stuff mixed in. This album cuts most of that out, and really, that's all I've wanted from Butch since M3 broke up. Had M3 been putting out albums the whole time, I don't think it's a stretch their sound gets to this, but I don't think it sounds like ReadySexGo, one year later.
No clue whether this is a one time thing or the rebirth. I suppose that might depend on how things go. Butch just said in an interview yesterday that a legit tour might follow after the new year, which was NOT said to be the case originally with these shows coming in ATL and Chi. It was said the guys in the band weren't in a position to be able to tour. So we'll see.

Did they charge a premium with the idea that these were supposed to be a see us now or never again kind of thing? I am glad you still dig the album even though it may not be exactly what you wanted. I think you have been disappointed with the last few Butch albums if I am not mistaken.

I think you have been disappointed with the last few Butch albums if I am not mistaken. No, the shows were all reasonably priced. Before TicketBastard sticks their scam charges in, the ATL shows were $40 and Chicago I think $60, which I think is the venue adding cost. I mean, it's not the $25 it would cost to see Butch solo, but with what tickets cost these days I think it's entirely reasonable.

After a week with the new album...I fuckin' love it. It might not be exactly classic M3, but to be fair, none of the previous albums sound super similar. They all have their own sound. It's really fuckin' good, though, front to back. Worth the wait. Hope it's not the last!

I know what a big fan you are and was hoping you weren't going to be disappointed.

My God, that was an amazing show! No one here is going to go or get the livestream tonight so I can give some spoilers.
They played most of Hey! and maybe half of RSG and only two off the new one. Interestingly, they played nothing off the first album, but they did play the beginning of Tainted Angel, which was just fucking awesome!
They did have an additional guitarist and it was Jayce's son, so that was a surprise...and he's damn good, both playing and vocally.
There's already video up on YouTube, check it out. It was a visually impressive stage show. Not bad for a bunch of old fuckers. Pumped to be going again tonight.

Cool that Butch at least acknowledges that time in his life. It seemed he wanted people to forget that band ever existed. Did they play Growing All My Hair Out? I will check out the video.

Saw M3 for the possibly last time to tonight in Chicago. They fucking ruled again, and they played a song they didn't play the two nights I saw them in ATL! I also caught a pick in ATL and partied a little too hard after the show and somehow lost the fucking thing. I was super bummed out about being a dipshit and losing it, but I worked hard tonight and got a replacement! All is once again right in the world!

Butch talked about a possible tour after the new year on ATL radio a few weeks back...but if this is it, I'm happy I saw the first show back and the last show. I'll be pumped if there's a tour, but I'm pumped I saw both the above if not... And that they played a song I didn't see in ATL was sweet. But no, not that one...

Hard to say without the details, though. So far, the details suggest it's ATL. Dunno how many shows or if there will be another Chicago stop. The April Fools teaser was showing a bunch of Blues Brothers memes, though, which was Chicago based...so maybe it's gonna be another repeat of the ATL and Chicago shows...

I also have to factor in that it may or may not be the last. If they advertise it as the official last show, I would make every effort to go.

Apparently an annual ATL show on Halloween weekend. Question will be if they do a weekend of shows or just a single? My guess is they'll do like last time and add a show at a time, based on sales...which will likely sell out in less than an hour.

Sounds like the wife and kid are interested in going with and the date should work... Now to hope tix are easy enough to get. And then to see if more shows are added...

3 tickets purchased. Now to wait and see if they add shows. Considering this one basically sold out in 5 min, I'm sort of expecting shows to be added like they did last year. Just hope tix don't go on sale tomorrow as I won't be home. I will be able to attempt to buy tix on my phone or laptop, but it's always been a breeze getting them from home, and I read online of people having a helluva time getting through and have no idea what they're doing different...so I don't really want to find out what their issue is by having to try and purchase remotely.
Either way. Will be cool to go see this show with my wife, and more so my kid who has taken a but of a liking to M3.
