Do you find that as you get older, your love for hard rock/heavy metal is not as passionate as it used to be and it's almost noise now or are you the same rocker you always were?
For me, I have the same passion for hard rock/heavy metal as I always did. I have certainly discovered different styles of music as I got older, but I am not at that point yet - where I turn down the hard rock because it's just too loud or annoying. I haven't turned into my father.

I never was a "metal head" and needed things to be heavy.
I was never a fan of Slayer and the like.
As heavy as my tastes ran were Maiden, Priest, Sabbath w RJD, and early Queensryche. Everything else for me was various types of commercial hard rock and prog rock.

Metal was always one of many different things that I listen to and it still is.

I like what I like and have yet to "grow out of" anything. I don't think there's such a thing as age-appropriate music if you like something.

Agreed. i will admit there are some childrens classics that I still smile when I hear them or I will sing to myself at times. It is what feels good to the listener.

Heavier stuff I used to listen to continually, I find only holds my interest for a little while now. My tastes now are much more varied, and therefore a bit more "mellow."
