IDK if it's been done on this Forum but it's a lil more chillaxed here than others I have been on. What are your Fav KISS Albums from Best to Worst, I know some HATE 80's stuff but I just want to gauge where the PEE-PULL think.

I do notice almost on everyone's list i have seen in the past that MONSTER, CARNIVAL OF SOULS, SONIC BOOM and PYSCHO CIRCUS are at the bottom but surprised to see P-CIRCUS in the middle n ranked high. For the Record there are Songs off of every KISS album that i like, even the worst KISS album has 2/3 great songs imo. My Top 8 albums I love the entire friggin record. Of course we get sick of R7R All Nite, SIOLoud, IWMFLY etc etc so thats why i listen to deep cuts or LIVE BOOTLEGS which im crazy for especially the PRO-SHOT FOOTAGE from 1975-1986 |

I do notice almost on everyone's list i have seen in the past that MONSTER, CARNIVAL OF SOULS, SONIC BOOM and PYSCHO CIRCUS are at the bottom but surprised to see P-CIRCUS in the middle n ranked high. For me it can come down to one or two songs being so great to me on an overall bad album that I have to rank it based on those songs vs maybe more consistent albums overall - but that don't have the same level of quality songs overall if you know what I mean. Just one of those albums like the Gene Simmons album that I love. You ranked his album the lowest too. It changes, for YEARS Gene Simmons was my #3 of solo albums, The ELDER i look at the album as a whole. If we were talking SONGS then it be different, see i LOVE i mean love "THE OATH" , I think its in KISS Top 40 Songs of All Time, Maybe even Top 20 IMO. I love DARK LIGHT, I'm going by full length album but as I said bro I love/like ALL KISS albums. Few years ago ELDER was ranked around the 12th/13th spot. It changes thru the years. |

Everything but the production quality is great about Hotter Than Hell...and I even appreciate the shitty production. I think they were going for a closer approximation of their live sound compared to the first album and Kerner and Wise didn't know how to pull it off. But the closest thing to filler on the album is All The Way, and I fucking love that song. Some people don't like Main Line, but those people should be kicked in the nuts. Gene sings half the album, Peter gets two vocals, and the lightest Paul album...arguably all good things.

Had it been a well produced album, it would actually be competitive with other bands of the time. KISS barely has any of those otherwise. The debut is lame despite the KISS klassics. Zero energy.
