I can see how you ingratiated yourself to the album expecting the movie. Are you the one who accidentally discovered the Elder in the soundtrack section. I recall someone posting that before on the FAQ thinking they'd discovered something rare. Yes. It was not in the KISS section. That said, I soon realized that a movie wasn't actually coming. It's not like it was now 1982 and I thought a movie was still coming. Waiting for your KISS album ranking. Next week.

Oh, and I listen to Ace 78 all the time. I rank it top 3 of the KISS albums. My daughter thinks it great, too...which probably doesn't sound like much of an endorsement, but she actually has some pretty decent music tastes.

It is absolutely top tier KISS and one of the very few KISS albums that is competitive with other bands of the era. Do you dig Paul's album? What other KISS albums does your daughter like if anything?

Yes, I like Paul's album a lot, but Gene's may have grown on me to the point I prefer it. If anything, though, Paul's album is the one that's overrated. Half of it is great, but half is just good...and other than the Kold Gin albums and maybe CoS, I think all KISS albums are at least good...
I don't know what other albums she necessarily likes. It's more so songs she likes than albums. But she digs Ace's album, pretty much front to back.
Not sure she's knowingly heard The Elder to form an opinion. I've not sat her down and asked her to listen and give a review. Maybe someday...

The last time that song was played in my house is when I did a cover of it while doing the prep for a colonoscopy...

Well, shucky darn! 'Round these parts, KISS reigns supreme like a rooster in a henhouse! Ain't nobody talkin' 'bout no ABBA, nosirree! I reckon if you mention ABBA to folks 'round here, you'd get more blank stares than a raccoon caught in headlights on a dark country road. Seems like ABBA ain't makin' no waves in my neck of the woods, leastways not with the folks I hang around with. KISS is the name of the game, and ABBA's just a distant memory, like last year's picklin' jar.

Well, land sakes alive, Margo! You just can't seem to rein in that ornery tongue of yours, can ya? You're nothin' but a cantankerous critter spoutin' off like a wildcat on a hot tin roof. Why, I reckon you oughta take a long walk down yonder and have a good talk with your conscience, 'cause this kind of talk don't sit right with decent folk. Now, I ain't one for castin' stones, but reckon it's high time you put a cork in it and simmer down before you ruffle more feathers than a rooster in a henhouse! Well, shuckins, Grand Classic, I reckon I gotta say sorry for causin' a ruckus in your fine establishment. But doggone it, I've plum had my fill of dealin' with this ornery cuss. If you reckon it's time for me to mosey on outta here, then go on ahead and give me the ol' heave-ho. I ain't fixin' to lose any sleep over it, that's for sure. Well, I declare, Margo! That’s not very positive is it.

Coming back to the news item on the first page before Granny Clampett derailed the thread; Gene has been misquoting that quote (popularised by Lennon but not original to him) for about twenty-four years at this point.
It’s “Life is what happens to you when you’re busy making other plans”. The word OTHER is the lynchpin to the whole thing, it makes it poetic, memorable and apt.
Since about the first Fakewell Tour* Gene has been misquoting it as “Life is what happens when you’re making plans” which isn’t even right. He said “interesting plans” in the news story on the first page, which is an even more egregious mangling.
* Just coined another new expression, remember you heard it on the FREEWHEELER first.

If I was Pophouse, I would throw Ace and Peter a bone. Not that they need to, but if you have hundreds of millions to throw around - I think it would be better to give Ace and Peter a few bucks and fully take advantage of the original era with merchandise using their exact likeness.
Not images and the like that sort of look like the original band or worse - Kold Gin primarily.
In other words, it would be peanuts to Pophouse and they wouldn't even feel it, but the benefit would be a smart business decision.

You got it. Give them a million bucks each take it or leave it.
But they’re such knuckleheads they’d probably say “you gave them 150 mil each you can give us that as well!” and cut themselves out.

Well hopefully they wouldn't use the worst managers/lawyers possible to negotiate a deal like they did with the reunion tour.

Ok, so I know you dig The Elder and Gene’s ‘78 solo album. I agree wholeheartedly with you on that. A couple questions….. What is your favorite KISS song and album? Is Gene’s ‘78 your favorite of the solo albums? How do you rank them? Is there anything from Sonic Boom and Monster that you like? Fave KISS song is probably Larger Than Life. For today Destroyer, but I rank the albums like this: 1. Destroyer 2. Hotter Than Hell 3. Creatures 4. Ace Frehley 5. Alive 6. Alive II Studio Side 7. Gene Simmons (ya, I know - I just love it) 8. The Elder (ya, I know there too) 9. Lick It Up 10. Revenge 11. Rock And Roll Over 12. DTK 13. KISS 14. Unmasked 15. Paul Stanley 16. Love Gun 17. Dynasty 18. Psycho Circus (really for Within and Journey only, which I love) 19. Crazy Nights 20. Animalize 21. Carnival 22. Asylum 23. Hot In The Shade 24. Sonic Boom 25. Monster 26. Peter Criss I like Russian Roulette and Animal on SB. Wall Of Sound and Long Way Down on Monster. Feel free to keep the questions coming. SORRY FUCKED UP NUMERICAL SEQUENCE 1.ALIVE2 2.DP 3.PAUL78 4.COTN 5.Unplugged 6.GENE78 D7.ALIVE 8.DTK 9.RARO 10.HTH DESTROYER11.DYNASTY 12.ACE78 LG13.HITS 14.CN 15.PC 16.LIU 17.PETE78 18.ASYLUM 19.REVENGE 20.ANIMALIZE 21.YWTBYGTB 22.KISS 23.UNMASKED 24.ALIVE3 25.KMA 26.ELDER 27.SB 28.MONSTER 29.COS ALIVE4

Well that is how any album ranking is, but I just meant you have albums like HITS really high, etc. Blame Gene, love all his tunes on it except the last one. And I love KOH more than Chrispyness & Redinthesky combined. Silver Spoon works quite a bit for me too.
