Mascot Label Group‘s website indicates: “In 1994, Manic Eden released their first and only album, and now, 30 years later it will be re-released. Manic Eden were a short-lived hard rock band consisting of former members of Whitesnake and Little Caesar. Following David Coverdale‘s decision to place Whitesnake on indefinite hiatus in the early 1990s, Manic Eden was founded in 1993 and had 3 members of Whitesnake from the Slip of the Tongue-era: Adrian Vandenberg (guitar), Rudy Sarzo (bass) and Tommy Aldridge (drums). Little Caesar vocalist Ron Young was the final piece of the puzzle.”
In a recent interview with Marko Syrjala for Metal-Rules, Sarzo touched upon briefly on his time in Manic Eden. “Manic Eden consisted mainly of Adrian Vandenberg, Tommy Aldridge, and me. Initially, we had a singer named James Christian from the House of Lords, but the sound was too reminiscent of Whitesnake. We wanted something that reflected the ’90s, so we brought in Ron Young from Little Caesar, which added an edgier vibe. But we only did a promotional tour with the band at the record stores, and that was about it because soon afterward, David [Coverdale] called Adrian and me up to do the 1994 Whitesnake tour, which then was my last with the band.”
