Correct. I'd move on to twenty other albums. There's only so many hours in a day and 300 albums released every Friday. I get that with new music created in 2024, but I can't imagine not listening to Coverdale/Page ever again or whatever album I loved growing up, because someone didn't release a vinyl version. Eh. Would you buy a well done steak? That's what it's like spending money on music NOT ON VINYL to me.

That isn't really a good comparison, because an argument has been made that the better sound quality with vinyl is questionable. In many cases, the CD has been proven to be better. So it isn't an absolute truth, but fair enough as a preference.

Some folks, idiotic silly ones, prefer digital music. But in all seriousness, I have a setup that's created for analog music and analog music alone. So, if I put in a CD player, it wouldn't sound right.

I have a state of 1971 stereo. Receiver: 1971 Turntable: 1975 Speakers; 1968 Bro. You have no idea how great an OG record sounds on this shit.

I am sure as well with an album that came out in the 70's. Less so with an album from the 90's.

Metallica didn't switch to digital recording...ever I don't think. Both the Black Album and Coverdale/Page are AAD recordings.

Do you mean this kind of difference? "Let's not fool ourselves, though. Vinyl is great, but the idea that its sound quality is superior to that of uncompressed digital recordings is preposterous. They sound different, and that's exactly the point." www.vox.com/2014/4/19/5626058/vinyls-great-but-its-not-better-than-cds

I prefer the format of vinyl and think it sounds great when theres not rice krispies happening...and that's enough for me. But I do know digital is mastered differently with the intent to sound different...so they are not the same. I mean, if someone prefers brickwall mastering, it's hard to tell them vinyl sounds better. Not that all digital has to be brickwalled...but it is typically different.

Rice Krispies in your vinyl is an aberration not a feature. Listening to Scumdogs of the Universe right now. Not a single snap, crackle, or pop.

FTR I found what Joma said clever/funny having never heard it put that way before. For me I find he's always on point everywhere he goes and enjoy his takes in particular. JOMA FOR PREZ!
