Regardless if it's Roman Polanski, Mel Gibson, Charlie Sheen, Tom Cruise or anyone else in the entertainment industry involved in some personal scandal - I don't care what they do or say in their personal life when it comes to me enjoying any work that they may do. I can absolutely separate the art from the artist and what someone does in their personal life is none of my business
I don't understand these people that all of a sudden boycott someone they used to love or be a fan of - because of something they said or did. Like those morons burning albums by The Dixie Chicks, because they told the truth about Bush.
How about you - can you separate the art from the artist?

Yes. Often I dislike both (Vick, say) and other times I really admire the craft and not the person (Polanski). Sometimes I like person more than their art even. As LED says, the most important thing is that we enjoy the reason they're there, but sometimes that can be enhanced. Rarely is it diminished for me. But in the case of a person like Dave Grohl, for instance, I already enjoy his band's music....and how his personality reads to me in interviews and how he treats his fans only adds to that because he legitimately seems to be a really likeable person as well as a fine musician.
