If a kid is wanted about deaths in his school on the same day, he's not getting the chance to run like in the eighties

So I got like twenty minutes left and it feels like the movie should be over with proper cuts, thee was too much poorly written plot I'm the way of all the eighties goodness. Keep in mind I am enjoying it, but I'm easy

Trick Or Treat Trivia:
Trick or Treat" was the directorial debut of long time character actor Charles Martin Smith, who's best known for his role as Terry "The Toad" Fields in "American Graffiti." Since then he's racked up a number of film and TV directorial credits, including such notable projects as the pilot episode of the "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" TV series ("Welcome to the Hellmouth"), the cuddly Disney film "Air Bud" (!) and the family hit "Dolphin Tale."
Gene Simmons was originally offered the role of Sammi Curr in the film. He passed on it as he wasn't impressed with the script, but agreed to a brief cameo as the radio DJ "Nuke."
Eddie's pal "Roger" was Glen Morgan's first and only onscreen acting role. Glen went on to become a prolific scriptwriter and producer for such TV shows as "The X-Files" and "Millennium," co-created the "Final Destination" horror film series with his partner James Wong, and directed the 2006 remake of "Black Christmas."
Outside of the U.S., the film was released under the title "Ragman," which is the pen name Eddie uses when he writes fan letters to Sammi Curr.
Tony Fields was a former "Solid Gold" dancer who'd appeared in Michael Jackson's "Thriller" and "Beat It" music videos and the film version of "A Chorus Line" before taking on the role of Satanic rocker Sammi Curr. Sadly, Tony passed away in 1995 at the age of 37, from complications related to the AIDS virus.

This is pretty odd - they have a video for Fastway's After Midnight, which features Fast Eddie Clarke on guitar, but Tony Fields on vocals as opposed to Dave King. I am sure he was happy about that.

I agree that was fun! I fell behind a bit as I'd have to pause every now and then, and then my better half started watching with me. Next time I'm gonna copy it to a memory stick and watch on my blu ray as its a pain in the ass switching between windows and having to stop the film. It was still a fun movie to watch after all these years...

Well shit, sorry I missed this, but the liveblog idea is cool. (And double shit, I was totally planning on watching it last night anyway so I woulda been in prime position to join in, but wound up going to a friend's house.) But yeah, it sure is a fun little disaster, isn't it?
My inner obsessive dork feels the need to point out, however, that Tookie observed a few boom mics visible - this is only because most of the prints around are 4x3 "open matte" versions of what was supposed to be a 1.85:1 aspect ratio. With the proper matting applied, none of that would have ever been visible. From what I can tell there's still not a correct version of this out anywhere, as the only widescreen print I found was from an Australian DVD that's cropped incorrectly and stretched a little.
Oh and as far as Cinemageddon invites, isn't that what the "cigars" are? If so, I'm pretty sure I got one if IAH wants it.

Since hard rock was popular in all the schools I went to, I wonder if anyone experienced what Marc Price's character went through - being considered a creepy loser for liking hard rock/metal. There were maybe 8-9 metalheads at my high school... Really? Wow. At my high school, especially while I was there (early to mid 80's, but even after I was there) there were literally about four hundred Metalheads there. We were a large group, and even some of the, "Preppie," types (that you wouldn't classify as, "Metalheads") liked Metal, but they didn't have the guts to grow their hair long (their parents intimidated them). It was almost a bad thing if you didn't like Metal. Sure, there were the New Wave/Alternative types (and a lot of them), and those who just didn't care about music all that much, but it was really either Heavy Metal or Alternative at my school. My school rocked. AND we won the State Championship in football my senior year! We kicked ass!

Hardly any metal heads at my school either. It was prep central.

I know someone did notice them, but I've already spotted TWO KISS posters when he tears them all down! An awesome Love Gun one I'd love to have, and a Lick It Up cover one.
Gene kinda looks like Hank Williams, Jr. in this movie.

Y'know... I strongly doubt anyone would have still been cutting acetates in 1986. I never really thought about it before, but now it bugs me, heh.
As for the portrayal of metal kids, I'd say it strikes me as fairly accurate, too. Now granted, I was a kid looking in from the outside on the "cool high school kids" at the time, but metal in its '80s form stayed pretty big here longer than it did elsewhere (as I've said before, I'm sure most kids here bought more copies of Def Leppard's album in 1992 than they did of Alice in Chains), and I mainly remember the ones who were really into it like Ragman here being kinda dorky outcasts. They tried to be all hard and shit, but nobody took them too seriously, and they were kinda just the burnouts and dweebs. This also pretty much carried on into my own teenage experience in the grunge years too, though. Us kids who were into it and hard rock were pretty much not quite part of the "in-crowd."

Oh, and I finally did find a good, non-stretched/incorrectly-cropped widescreen print if anyone wants this damn thing for their collection in its proper aspect ratio.
