A co-worker and I are going to be drawing and writing respectively, a comic. We're unsure what mode we are going to be trying to distribute it, however I am going to have you guys look at some panes when I get them back from Conrad (aka Bitches). But here is our concept so far, I've got at least a five 23 page issue arc planned for the first story.
The world has been a dystopian mess for five years after a virus brought the world back to square one, on top of the pandemic global tensions rose and the military complex was unleashed causing an every man against every man situation. This is not what our story is about.
The story is about Jed, a man who's tongue has been mutilated with a kitchen implement. This is not about him losing his tongue.
Its about his journey across the state that used to be Maine looking for the sick fucks that killed his daughter in front of him, while raping him.
The first arc is planned to be VERY bloody and Jed is pretty much no longer a human. He's gone.
I figure I have room for stories set in between the pandemic (and even before) and the final issue of arc 1. This will let me revisit Jed if Conrad and I wish, but after that we think we're going to tackle a tale from the side of people who do things like kill someone's daughter in front of them while their buddy rapes the father.
Any way comic fans, would you give a twisted comic with that general outline a try?

A bit of backstory this was going to be a screenplay at first but I realized the chances were greater of people seeing it since I know an AWESOME artist who brings a few at manga influence without turning it into kitsch anime girl shit. Think the darker anime and manga. So rather than attempt to get a screenplay sold and made, which would likely turn out to be a movie like I would review here due to my lack of connections. I made the decision to make it a comic.
Even if I can never get it published I plan on making all five issues for scanning and putting up here and a few other places. Plus the idea of a mute protagonist would be beyond the capabilities of most b movie actors to convey the rage and lack of empathy Jed has.
There will be an arching narrative, Jed is surprisingly compartmentalized but I think he's had to develop that or he'd be dead. And he's got something he needs to do.
Sorry, I'm still writing it so Jed still feels real to me.

I would like to have the entire first arc done before really attempting to publish it.
