In news that threatens to rock 1987, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone have confirmed long-rumored plans to join forces for the action movie The Tomb, a film that will at last see the playful rivals teaming up without any Planet Hollywood spiels or assorted Lundgrens getting in the way.
According to the press release, the thriller from Swedish filmmaker Mikael Håfström (The Rite) finds Stallone playing "the world's foremost authority on structural security" (which could explain why he apparently spends all his off-hours bodybuilding) who is wrongfully jailed and forced to escape from a prison of his own making with the help of Schwarzenegger, an inmate with "multiple shades of grey" - meaning he also "fights to keep the prisoners from losing their humanity in their darkest hour."
"No, you must keep your hu-mahn-ity. It is dat vat keeps us hu-mahn," Schwarzenegger will say, maybe. Anyway, if nothing else, perhaps this film can at last put the great "Schwarzenegger/Stallone Height Gap" debate to rest.
