So based on album sales today and the less than stellar performance of a reunited Van Halen album - how would a new Zeppelin album sell today in your opinion obviously with the legendary Jason Bonham.
Are Zeppelin one of the very few bands who may be bulletproof to music sales today like AC/DC or would it underperform greatly as well.

I think it would sell alot less than the VH album honestly. People still wanted a new VH album with DLR; doesn't seem to be a lot of people clamoring for a new Led Zep album. I love Zep but even I'm not that interested in the idea.

I know it's a greatest hits package , but their last release in 07 debuted at 7, selling 136,000 copies the first week, eventually going platinum(certified 2X). I could only imagine that an album of new material would blow up.

No. I'm not saying impossible, but not likely. Could do Black Ice numbers with that kind of promotion. Not any better I don't believe.

pink floyd would go platnium. a lost album by the beatles would go platnium....hell, maybe even mccartney & ringo calling themselves the beatles might go platnium. but that's probably about it....

Led Zeppelin are/were one of the biggest bands of all-time, and I believe there is a huge market for them. AC/DC numbers? Pretty close I'd say.

Well - even then, the sales of albums weren't quite the shape that they were in 2009 onward.... kind of like the final hurrah for it, I think.

Their show in England sold out in, what? 10 minutes?
Led Zeppelin is one of the biggest bands of all time. They dwarf Van Halen, and Van Halen was and is huge. A new Zep album would sell a million plus copies easily. That's the kind of thing that would bring out the 40-55 year old crowd that doesn't buy music much anymore.

It depends. I think more people want a tour than an album. I think the album would have to be really good to hold itself up more than a week or two. Promotion and marketing would all be factors in it, not just the name.

The studio album Page and Planet did wasn't exactly a chartburner. Now, a Pink Floyd album, that would sell. Yeah that's kinda what I was thinking too. If in 1994 a Page/Plant album didn't set the world on fire then it's pretty doubtful that one would do so in 2012.

Gotta disagree because, A.) the album wasn't very good and, B.) it didn't have the LED ZEPPELIN name on the cover. Put out a Zep IV meets Houses Of The Holy kind of album under the Led Zeppelin name and it sells over a million copies easily. Zep was a phenomenon - one that has lost almost no steam over the last 32 years since they broke up.

But does that mean that it would have great album sales? I'm not so sure.
