Are you telling me you can't figure out what the show is about? Really? It's not what i thought it would be. Guys from the 50's appear 50 years later in investigation's in the future. It's LOST with ALCATRAZ the back drop all over again where they may never reveal what the hell was goin on the whole time. Watched the first 2 episodes and it's about to get LOST from my viewing schedule. As soon as they said from the producers of LOST it was a bad sign.

I never watched LOST so I have no clue if it's similar. So far, I'm enjoying it. I've been to ALcatraz and read alot about it, so the premise of the show interests me. The mystery, not only of how the prisoners and others are coming back (I love the sci-fi approach) but also those of the individual characters is appealing.
I'm gathering you don't enjoy this show. Why then is it dissappearing from your schedule. You've shown in the past that you can't walk away from shows you dislike. What makes this one any different?

It'll never get unwarranted wins in awards. I don't like the approach at all. It's very similar to LOST according to my brother who did invest alot of time in LOST to only be extremely dissapointed in the decidedly NON ending of that show and he can tell ALCATRAZ will never fully answer THE QUESTION or THE MYSTERY... it'll just string you along and tease. It's what those LOST producer fuckers do. Mystery is good. I am glad to see Sherlock back, real proper mysteries not like this ALCATRAZ second rate mystery shit. The Mystery is how the hell did Sam Neill ever involve himself with this crap. Plot summary On March 21, 1963, over three hundred inmates and more than forty guards disappeared from the Alcatraz island prison without a trace. To cover up the disappearance, the government invented a cover story about the prison being closed, due to unsafe conditions, and the inmates were transferred. As a young San Francisco police officer tasked with transferring inmates to the island in 1963, federal agent Emerson Hauser (Sam Neill) had been one of the first to discover the inmates missing. He now runs a secret government unit dedicated to finding the prisoners. In present-day San Francisco, the "63s" (as the inmates and guards are called) begin returning, having not aged at all. To help track them down and capture them, Hauser enlists police detective Rebecca Madsen (Sarah Jones) and Dr Diego Soto (Jorge Garcia), an expert on the history of Alcatraz. The 63s appear to be returning without memory of where they have been and with compulsions to find certain objects. This non ageing to present day shit is the most frustrating part. The premise is O.K. but chasing around ageless prisoners in current times is just idiotic.

I don't really care that much about TV shows to be upset if the mystery isn't revealed in the end. AS long as I'm entertained for the hour or so I'm watching it. Many people I know were upset at the ending of The Sopranos. My wife screamed a whole lot of fuck at the TV. I loved it.
I can see that you still have no idea on fantasy or sci fi. I can also se this going down the same route as your True Blood idiocy.

Your brother KNOWS it will be shit too? Must run in the family. It's made by the same producers of Lost so fearing the will pull the same bullshit again is valid. I pegged True Blood just from a picture. Really this show shouldn't even be allowed to carry the name of ALCATRAZ it has been that much of a let down.... so far. This shows not good enough to carry such a title as ALCATRAZ ALCATRAZ my ass. Shame on Sam neil for appearing in this diatribe.

I pegged True Blood just from a picture. I reckon people might judge you from one comment. I was correct so they can judge me on that. A show like True Blood you don't even have to watch to know it'll be shit you could tell from the picture it would be days of our lives with Vampires. The Nudity is still the best thing about the show. Have you got the picture in question for review ?

Pretty sure you fell and hit your head as a child, what in God's name are you babbling about now?
Alcatraz is a great show, sure it's a Fringe rip-off but hey I like Fringe.

You probably secretly like it, kind of like how you hated the current lineup but were photographed wearing a Rock The Nation t-shirt. You remember? Yeah, you remember.

So, neither you nor your brother actually watched Lost but you judge this show based on your impressions of it, yup, got it. No, LED, but he saw the picture of the t.v show so that's enough.

So, neither you nor your brother actually watched Lost but you judge this show based on your impressions of it, yup, got it. Alcatraz is not remotely similar to Lost other than having the same fat actor. It's produced by JJ Abrams Bad Robot and one of it's creators did some writing on Lost (and NYPD Blue, Deadwood, etc.) that's the only connection between the two. But please, continue reviewing things you've never experienced... My brother watched it go to woe. I didn't bother beyond a few episodes. I knew not too get into it too deep as was fleshed out with the nothing ending as i've been told was extremely dissapointing by my brother. Again you ridicule me but i am almost always right when it comes to the GUT feel of great T.V. Lost , true blood are certainly farrrrrrrrrrr from that. My radar is impeccable. I am a KISS fan after all.

Just wondering, do you ever feel the need to type out your sentences as a paragraph instead of breaking the line after every sentence? Your writing reads like someone who just discovered a computer keyboard.

Yeah, you remember. True. I'm not a big washer of clothes so the rock the nation t shirt was the least stinky most under used. The poker tournament is played close proximity to others who have no idea about line up's but they may protest if i were wearing the other stinky KISS shirts. The rock the nation t shirt was the absolute best thing about that tour because it had an ultra cool large KISS logo on it not afraid to admit that. The rock the nation tour will easily go down in my book as the worst KISS tour of Australia, it was diabolical outside the " In your face " intimate theatre gig, that night saved the tour from being a complete debacle. There was also one at the Enmore theatre , Sydney that i purchased a ticket for but missed. Here's more trivia. How many concerts did i attend on the rock the nation tour ? Across how many different states in Australia did i travel for those shows ? The answers don't negate how much i hated that line up at that time regardless of wearing the shirt ONE NIGHT and being photographed in it having just happened to have actually won the tournament on a Friday night against a bunch of drunkards.........

Again you ridicule me but i am almost always right when it comes to the GUT feel of great T.V. For your tastes!!! This is where you infuriate people. You insist that if you don't like something, then it simply is not good and everyone else has no taste or standards for liking it. Alternately, if you like something, it is beyond criticism and you go mental if anyone dares say they don't particularly like it. Simple really. Simple i insist the Spice Girls suck and if you like them you have next to no standards.

Are you telling me you wouldn't be fairly to extremely confident the spice girls were shit just from a photo of the group ? You didn't need to listen to The Spice Girls to know they were not worth the time of day. Sometimes you can tell. Sometimes it's a pleasant surprise... it's possible but the radar doesn't fail when it comes to something like The Spice Girls you just KNOW you KNOW.

Ofcourse i did not completely dismiss the Spice Girls until i heard part of a song but it was of no real surprise when i did hear the music. Just think KISS, Alice and slipknott are different to the Spice Girls. They all looked exciting and the music backs that up. The above examples wrote they're own music which helped. Ah yes i hear you say the Village people did not write they're own music but i'm allowed to give a free pass to one band. I will admit i judged slipknott but that's more to do with most modern bands being shit regardless of a photo, not my cup of tea for music but saw a Slipknott concert on pay t.v. and it impressed the shit out of me they really know how to work a crowd and the group dynamics they have are insane.... the music isn't as bad as i had first feared but again that was less to do with how they looked then to do with them being a modern rock band.

But if we look at a pic of the Village People, we should know they're gonna be great? In disco circles you bet ya. Undoubtedly a great band concept and it is disco. Overall i wouldn't say great that would be a slap in the face of the Beatles, pink floyd, AC/DC, KISS, Bruce Springsteen, Bob dylan, The rolling stones. They are a selection of your true greats. Village people i would say no. Are the Village people a great disco group YES, the greatest disco group ever i would arguably say YES confidently.

In disco circles you bet ya. Undoubtedly a great band concept and it is disco. No different than the Spice Girls being a girl group and their concept being aimed at a certain demographic. The Village People concept was initially pitched to the gay audience by highlighting popular gay fantasy personas....and you say you related to that from their picture? I didn't know what gay was really. It appealed to me on the i want to be a firefighter level is all.

Sorry, you cannot tell how good or bad someone's music is going to be just by looking at them. You can't tell how good a book is just by the cover - "You can't judge a book by its cover." That's not just a popular quote - there is truth behind it.
