It's the 24th in Australia, so I'm throwing it out there now. Massive day in Kisstory but so tragic. He was an amazing drummer, and I have to say he's my favourite. A shame he died the same day as Freddie, as he was very overshadowed. But that's how fate had it. Both were Massive idols of mine nevertheless. They were far too young. I'm 51 now, but when I look at what they accomplished in their short life, it was alot. R.I.P Eric and Freddie. Forever missed

Sad indeed. By all accounts was a great guy. I don't think he would have remained in KISS even if he lived, but I really wonder how things would have gone if he lived - what other band he might have joined and how he would dealt with the reunion and the last 20 years of KISS.

I still miss him every day. He should have been there since day one.

I still miss him every day. He should have been there since day one. Even if that were possible, I still think he would have been replaced as they transitioned into the 80's and Ace left as well. I don't think Eric Carr being there from day one means Eric Carr is in the band for 50 years if he didn't die.

Heart cancer is so rare that if a cardiologist sees one case of it during their entire career it’s unusual.
Mark St John said a few years before he died that Eric used to use three cans of hairspray on his hair before every gig and that’s probably what killed him. Wouldn’t surprise me. The chemicals in those 80s hair spray cans would have been diabolical.
