I know I said I wasn't going to get political this time around - mostly because I don't think the members now are as political as the members were before. I mean I think this section was the most active at one point - especially with Psychosaint here.
However I am just curious - where do you land politically? Left/right/centrist. Republican/Democrat. Libertarian. Your own political take. Have you voted the same way more or less or voted for either side based on the candidate?
What are your political views more or less?
With a 2024 election coming up with my American Freewheelers here - who do you support and plan to vote for if anyone? For those that are Republican - do you like Nikki Haley, Vivek Ramaswamy, etc?

Old school left, but not left enough to be offended by absolutely everything the way some of the younger folk are today. I'm 'woke' in the sense that I try to respect everyone. Unless they've proven they don't deserve my respect because they're a fundamentalist religious dipshit, any kind of homophobe or racist or an original lineup only KISS or Sabbath fan.

I've never been anything but left, and never felt i was wrong.
i'm not the modern left, the extreme left.
I understand that progress in the USA is slow, but I understand regression is fast.
I'm a social democrat, not a democratic socialist, but i'm also straight up Law and Order too.
i'm a host of contradictions!

I'm definitely left of center, but not to any extreme.
I'm pro-life, but again, not to the extreme.
I'm also growing more conscious and concerned over our border crisis.
Having said that, I believe we need to do anything and everything to keep Trump from being re-elected and to remove these sick people from government:
Matt Gaetz Ted Cruz Marjorie Taylor-Greene Lindsey Graham Kevin McCarthy Jim Jordan Elise Stefanik

I'm the kind of liberal that doesn't exist anymore. The kind who supports both gun and abortion rights. We're an endangered species, there aren't very many of us left.
One of the things that pisses me off about liberals today is when they call you a fence-sitter or equate your views with cowardice because you don't fall in line with everything they say. The "vote blue no matter who" crap is one of the main reasons why I left Chicago. It feels like a giant cult.

Years ago I actually think I said on here that I was as left as they come. I may have even said extreme left. I had no idea then just how insane the left was going to go, so I would not describe myself as extreme liberal to anyone now.
However I am indeed liberal and have those general views - pro-choice, etc. Feel free to ask me if you want my view on any specific issues.
Canada is actually to the left of America overall. So even our conservative party here would be deemed liberal lite by Republican/MAGA standards.
The reason why this section was so active years back is because we did have definitive conservatives/Republicans here and a couple of far right nutjobs, so the heated debates flowed.

I'm fine with gun rights if we can do the following: 1. Criminalize irresponsible gun ownership. 2. Ban assault weapons OR return to a Constitutional standard for owning them. i.e. if you have one, you agree to be drafted when needed per the 2nd Amendment. 3. Create a federal data base of all serial numbers and ballistics. If we can't do those things? I'm all for grabbing them. Also, I'm not vote blue no matter who. In the past 5 elections have voted for at least one republican candidate.

As a Canadian, I am always curious of the string of Presidents people I know voted for and if they regret any of those votes.

The reason why Trump is ahead of Biden in the polls in all of these battleground States, is because people who voted for Biden are finally realizing his policies are destroying this country. 40 year high inflation, southern border is a complete mess, cities are overrun with illegals, new World wars.
The World was at peace when Trump was in office and Americans were better off.
