This is one of those great songs from our youth we never forget. I heard it for the first time in ages and was completely floored by the chord changes, modulations, etc. So here's my tribute.

That was VERY cool. I enjoyed watching you play that and the guitar is really nice. But you didn't do this right. Shouldn't you have released a photo first of you in front of a mixing board before you release music?

Shouldn't you have released a photo first of you in front of a mixing board before you release music? Thanks!! It's funny you mention that because lighting is always an issue for me. I first tried filming facing the other way, and my puny 12 channel mixer would have been in the shot. Pro Tools has a mixer with limitless channels. So big mixers aren't even necessary. Even the coveted mic pre-amps on expensive boards (Neve, etc.), have been successfully captured through plug-ins. All the automation features, flying faders and such, can be done on an inexpensive laptop. So posing with a big mixer is exactly that - posing! That is the Marshall amp I bought in Los Angeles back in '92, though. They'd think I'm nuts at guitar forums playing a hollow body guitar through it, but the clean channel sparkles. I have a 4X12 cabinet mic'd in a closet for a makeshift isolation booth. It's a cabinet I bought off Galactic Cowboys for a pittance right after Geffen dropped them. There are live clips of them opening for Dream Theater and you can see the cabinet onstage. Speaking of lighting, I still can't figure out YouTube Shorts. It won't let me edit videos I film in my music room for Shorts, and the only thing different is the lighting. It's a drag because I can sometimes get Shorts into the algorithm/rotation. I did a jump rope video on a rare cold day last week and it got 2K hits, pretty quickly. That's a lot for me. I was hoping to see if I could get this one out there. This has 2K+ views:

Looks cold though. Maybe that is your true calling - jump rope content. Is that the most views you have gotten compared to guitar videos?

If memory serves, it was in the high 20's; which is really cold for Houston. I'm really thin right now, and my extremities went numb. That happens with really low body fat. But it's never an issue here - well, almost never. And the trade-off is, I can get maximum speed with the rope without having to work too hard. I don't have grand aspirations to be an influencer; but I do work extremely hard on my original songs and feel they deserve a bigger audience. It's been a while, but I have had jump rope videos/Shorts do well. Furthermore, I have no idea why this one somehow got in the algorithm. I used to tag my jump videos with #fitafter50, seeing if I could penetrate that demographic. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't. But I did the best I could for not owning a bikini. I haven't had near the luck with guitar videos; I still do them, though. The guitar crowd is a tough sell, especially since I don't get into gear and all that stuff. I actually just bought a delay pedal, like Eddie used on Cathedral. I may learn it and see if I can get that out there, among the countless other vids of people playing it.

Do a jump rope video with just the privates covered in a sock in cold weather and you just might just go viral.

If I thought it'd help, I'd do it; and no, I wouldn't wuss out like Kip Winger.
