Well if you ever want to have me on - I would be happy to do it. You and battra should definitely do that. His podcast looks good, but I'm not into metal, so haven't really checked it out. That debate I would definitely watch. Everyone thinks me being on someone's podcast is a great idea - be it Julian's, etc. However I am very outspoken and have a big personality - that I get the impression that the hosts don't want me taking over the episode or having it be all about me, which is fair and I understand. Like I mentioned, I was going to do a podcast with David who makes the costumes for KISS after he baited me on the FAQ to do a podcast, but once we spoke on the phone a few times to try to work out a plan - it became clear to him that there was no way he could do a podcast with me for obvious reasons since he worked with KISS. There are way too many topics that would be off limits for him to talk about that I would bring up and understandably so. You can't have a no holds barred discussion when you are making a living being paid by the people who are lip syncing, etc. I totally get that. David is a great guy though.

If they filmed it in advance, couldn't they just edit if they felt you were too controversial? The lip syncing is kinda beating a dead horse. The majority have spoken - they don't care. It's sad that our standards have sunk that low, but there's no putting the genie back in the bottle. As for Kiss costumes, that's getting into Star Trek territory; I'd probably skip that. But I know little about Free, and side with battra on that. So that would cool to hear you guys debate.

But I know little about Free, and side with battra on that. So that would cool to hear you guys debate. Sure they could do that, but then you might have a 2 hour discussion reduced to 10 minutes. I don't think enough people have spoken about the lip syncing - hell even ballwashers on 3 Sides tried to avoid talking about it/denied it initially. If I am going to take part in any sort of general discussion on KISS, I am going to bring it up in addition to Tommy and Eric pretending to be Ace and Peter. The same when it comes to any band - I want to discuss the good, the bad and the ugly about that band. Not just have a circle jerk gushing about the band, which is what too many KISS podcasts do. You need one person at least who has a completely opposing view. Not 3 guys or more - who just agree with each other more or less. That is a boring listen for the most part. In the case of Dave though, I totally get that he realized that despite baiting me - he realized that it would problematic and there are just things he would not want to comment on in a podcast because he is associated with KISS. I completely respect him and I understand. I do hope something happens with battra at some point. It is up to him.

Hey Man, ahh here you are!! I was directed here by someone from the FAQ. Good to see you bud and thank you for the invite! First, let me clarify your above post. I didn't bait you, but I did accept your open challenge to debate you publicly about Tommy and Eric in the originals makeup. That was the nature of the thread you and I were in and what we were debating. It wasn't until speaking with you after the fact over the phone that your intentions of expanding the dialogue to cover areas that I'm not an expert on or delving into territory that I'm not comfortable getting into where I realized the debate you wanted wouldn't be a good fit for me. That's not a jab or meant in any way to be derogatory...simply the reality of where you wanted this to go...and I think we were both ok with leaving it be at that point. Beyond that I'm always down for a good discussion, debate or even a passionate exchange of opinions but I do tend to focus on topics I'm comfortable with so that I don't put my foot in my mouth - hopefully. I had no idea this place existed, now that I do I'll check in from time to time. Cheers guys. David

I had no idea this place existed, now that I do I'll check in from time to time. Cheers guys. David Welcome! Good to see you. Yes, I wanted to invite you here and allow you to further clarify things if you wanted to. I sort of felt baited even if that wasn't your intention - like you were sort of daring me to do this. Don't get me wrong, I wasn't bothered by that and clearly I was interested since we spoke on the phone a few times to work out some kind of plan. Yes, after talking with you a few times - I knew this wasn't going to work. Even if you didn't work with KISS, we just have "creative differences" on the kind of show we would want to put on not unlike creative differences that happen between people working on TV shows and movies. Any type of podcast that I would want to take part in - no matter what the topic is - I would want it to be a discussion with no restrictions and I completely understand why you are not in a position to do that or even why you personally may not have an interest in discussing certain heated topics. No hard feelings at all and I enjoyed speaking with you nonetheless. I hope you will stick around and contribute. Feel free to post your costume info and promotions here.

I thought I would move the discussion here, since the comments were in an entirely different thread that people have probably moved on from now.
Davidyr1 has now joined the conversation and I didn't want the discussion to get lost or not be seen.
Glad to have him here.

Funny you guys mention this now, because just this morning I recorded a podcast where we spoke for two hours about how Gene’s EOTR outfit made him look like an obese ninja turtle.

Maybe David, battra and I can do something at some point. That would be a very cool panel. Maybe Blackwell and any other people interested as well.
We don't have to talk about lip syncing and new members pretending to be old members if topics like that are off limits.

I'm willing to give my $.02. I'm not that versed on the nerdier/dorkier aspects of Kiss, as I saw a Sludger admonishing whoever that banned Italian Kiss fan is. forums.metalsludge.tv/forums/viewtopic.php?p=7765893#p7765893I'm not a fan of lip syncing, but the majority have spoken - they don't care and there's no putting the genie back in the bottle. It could be fun, but of course finding an audience is the big challenge.

I don't think lip syncing or anything else for that matter shouldn't be discussed or debated anymore because the people have spoken or it is popular now. In all actuality, there is even MORE of a reason now to keep this kind of discussion alive with why this is all entirely wrong despite what the general public thinks. I bring the audience. No worries there.

No worries there. I'm not saying it shouldn't be discussed; just that I have no righteous indignation over it. As a musician, yes, I think it's awful. But I don't know what I could add to the topic. The general public clearly doesn't care. It's unfortunate, but what can you do? I wish I could bring an audience, but doubt I'd move the needle much!
