Legendary vocalist/bassist Glenn Hughes will enter the studio in June to record the long-awaited follow-up to his 2016 solo album "Resonate".
The 72-year-old Glenn, who just played a couple of shows with his supergroup BLACK COUNTRY COMMUNION, confirmed his recording plans in a social media post on Saturday (March 23). He wrote: "Currently at home in Los Angeles, but the road is calling me… Very busy year ahead, touring Europe & the United States, & more continents, announcing soon. Touring until November 25th. It's also time for me to record a GH solo album , to center me, & create new songs.
"New music is vital for me , it is the Healer.
"I will be in Copenhagen in June, recording in the studio.
"It's time for me to release new music in 2025, and play my solo material and retrospective songs of my career live. To be present in the moment, and to stay free, is all I (we) need.
"Sharing good loving vibrations with you all... See you soon. Playing my Orange Amplifiers GH Signature Bass Guitar At every show."
Glenn previously discussed his plans to record a new solo album last October 2023 in an interview with Brazilian music journalist Igor Miranda. At the time, he said: "I am preparing to go in the studio next year, sometime in the summer. I'm preparing the songs in the next couple of months. I have a few ideas, and when I go in the studio, I'll be ready to go."
Asked how "Resonate" has aged for him musically since its release eight years ago, Glenn said: "I love the album. It's one of my favorite albums. I think a lot of people across the world, the rock fans love that album. I was at home writing that album and I went to Copenhagen and I had a really great time making that album. And the next one hopefully will be as strong."

1. My googles show that Mr. Hughes didn't release a vinyl edition on this side of the pond. 2. I'm currently listening to Come Taste The Band featuring one Mr. Glenn Hughes on bass.

Are you really going to tell me that if an album is not available on vinyl, then the album is dead to you and doesn't exist? You won't play it on your computer or phone or mp3 player or whatever just to hear it?

I only LISTEN to music on vinyl. Are you really going to tell me that if an album is not available on vinyl, then the album is dead to you and doesn't exist? You won't play it on your computer or phone or mp3 player or whatever just to hear it? Basically yeah. I listen to music FOR REAL LISTEN in my sitting room on my turntable. Most of the time, when I'm posting, that's where I am.

Most of the time, when I'm posting, that's where I am. That's kind of crazy. I get the preference, but a CD or MP3 is just fine if nothing else exists currently or in your country to just hear the songs and decide if it is worth buying an expensive import on vinyl. Seems silly to deprive yourself with listening to an album when you are a fan of an artist or band, because they haven't made vinyls. If the Coverdale/Page Deluxe only came out on 8 track and that was the only way to hear it - I would buy an 8 track player to hear it, because I am passionate about the music.

If I could only get a steak well done at a restaurant, would I get that steak? I would not. I would deprive myself of not enjoying something. I accept in this world that I cannot consume every single minute of music that's been recorded. On vinyl or not on vinyl helps me separate the wheat from the chaff now doesn't it?

That's kooky and not a great comparison, because you can still entirely enjoy an album in CD format or mp3. Vinyl isn't THAT far and away better like some whole new version of the album that I am not hearing at all on CD. We are eating the same great steak for the most part. Yours just may be a bit more juicy. I understand when it comes random new music, but I would assume when it comes to your absolute favorite artists and bands - you have the time to listen to anything new they put out as you do to go see them live.

Yeah, listening to music in my car, on my PC, or through my airpods is akin to eating a well done steak in comparison to listening to music on my vinyl stereo system. If my favorite artists, who've been in the game for 50+ years don't want to release on my preferred format, that's cool, I'll never have or hear every single one of his records anyway. it's not just about whether or not it's on CD or vinyl, but it's about the whole experience. My music room is set up for maximum acoustics, and that's not even including the stereo.

That something isn't better than nothing from a favorite band or artist or really anything in life. I still have movies on VHS and a VHS player because they were never released on DVD. Listening to or watching something is the important thing ultimately with whatever way you can your hands on it. I guess we differ there. I am not going to ignore the next Whitesnake album because it didn't come in the format I prefer. I guess you would or pick whatever favorite band.
