A second official trailer has arrived for Ncuti Gatwa’s first full season as the new The Doctor in “Doctor Who” for the BBC and Disney+ service.
Gatwa first appeared in the third of David Tennant’s three 60th anniversary specials and was joined by his new companion Ruby Sunday (Millie Gibson) in last year’s Christmas special.
This will continue the adventure that began with that special as The Doctor (Gatwa) and Ruby (Gibson) embark on adventures across space and time.
Numerous guest stars this season include Jonathan Groff, Indira Varma, Golda Rosheuvel and Jinkx Monsoon in what is being dubbed ‘Season 1’ and serves as a good jumping-off point for those who’ve never seen ‘Who’ before.
The new trailer shows off some of the new creatures, villains, landscapes and dangers that the pair will face, and teases a continuation of the storyline of The Doctor (like Ruby) not knowing his true heritage.
Additionally the episode titles and writers have been revealed for the new run. Steven Moffat is penning the third episode “Boom” whilst Kate Herron and Briony Redman will pen the sixth episode “Rogue”.
All six other episodes are being penned by Russell T Davies with the titles being “Space Babies” (#1), “The Devil’s Chord” (#2), “73 Yards” (#4), “Dot and Bubble” (#5), “The Legend of Ruby Sunday” (#7) and “Empire of Death” (#8).
The new season of “Doctor Who” will debut on Friday May 10th at 7pm US-ET on Disney+ in the U.S. and at 12am on Saturday May 11th on BBC iPlayer in the UK. Episodes will air later that day on BBC One.
