So who among us still have long-obsolete technology hooked up, or at least still keep it around and can't quite bring themselves to throw it out?
I'm actually down a bit from years prior, but I still have three VCRs. A fairly-fancy-for-its-time JVC S-VHS deck is hooked up, but I have a fairly nice Sony and a cheap knockoff Orion brand model sitting around. I've got a Tanglewood brand (seems to have been a late-70s division of Audiodesign) 8-Track deck which isn't hooked up, but only because most of the tapes I run across in flea markets are in need of pad repairs I'm too lazy to make - but it does work. My mid-80s AIWA component stereo is pretty much antiquated in and of itself, but it also consists of a fancy dual cassette deck with every kind of tape-related option you can think of. Unfortunately, only one deck works - think the other needs a belt replacement. Besides the SVHS deck, there's also a Sega Dreamcast connected to my TV, a system dead since 2002 but still the last really great one in my opinion.
I've had my eye on an RCA Selectavision CED player with about 100 discs at a flea market here, even though I know buying it would be a stupid decision. It works fine (well, as fine as those things ever worked), and it's been there forever so I'm sure the guy would cut a dirt-cheap deal on it, but the more logical part of me wonders what the fuck I'd do with a ton of huge clunky discs I'd rarely ever watch, so I've held back. There's also a Pioneer laserdisc player there that's been tempting me...
How's 'bout youse guys?

I still use 2" analog tape in my recording studio from time to time, but pro tools sure has made it easy for sure.

Original Xbox whenever it decides it wants to turn on and laserdiscs every now & then. Been thinking about plugging up the Atari 800 computer.

My PC, which I bought in 2005 is apparently obsolete, as I tried to upgrade something (I don't remember what) and the program laughed at me. It also makes really funny noises if you run it for more than an hour but so far it's still hanging in there ;D

Still have some stuff on cassette tape I listen to. Still have my VHS player, I had a discman but I can't remember if I threw it out or have just stowed away.

According to Lefsetz any of us visiting this site on a computer or a laptop are jokes holding on to obsolete technology. Well Bulletin Boards are old school anymore so I suppose he has a point.
