Anyone happen to catch this new VH1 doc? Definitely worth watching, a pretty compelling 90 minutes that's much better than I'd have expected from VH1. Even if you're not a hip-hop fan, the focus is far more on the riots themselves - the hip-hop discussion is basically limited to the soundtrack and the general connection it had with the culture. Lots of footage I'd never seen before, and it's interesting that it pretty much takes 100% of its viewpoint from those who were there and some who were involved in crimes and pretty much doesn't make apologies for anything. Definitely recommend for anyone into modern history (or hip-hop, for that matter).
