Remember when this first went on the air and they actually showed things to that where well Chilling?
Friday The 13th Kindred Tales From The Crypt Nightmare On Elm Street ETC
Well after years of things on the Chiller Network like "Beyond Belief" and "Ripley's" among other Non scary items Chiller is screwing up again with airing "Dead Like Me" this friday at nine. While a good show someone needs to remind Chiller what they should be airing classic horror TV shows

While a good show someone needs to remind Chiller what they should be airing classic horror TV shows IMO Chiller gets a pass for one reason and one reason only. It's the ONLY network to keep Freddy's Nightmares alive! However Dead Like Me is not even close to scary, nor is it particularly gory. The trouble for Chiller is they only have the rights to certain shows and there are only so many old horror TV shows that are available to buy. What I would love is to see them invest in the channel and get some original anthology or other horror shows. It's the only way that network will get more viewers unless they go in the opposite direction and go movie focused and release films in certain theaters ALA IFC films.

No they don't. On an unrelated note do they play more Jonathon Frakes episodes of Beyond Belief? His voice in documentary form can help ANYONE get to sleep (fair warning I'm a trekkie)

Now I really love bad horror movies, I'm talking below c grade even. Ever heard of Bill Zebub? If you have you know DTV schlock worse than most home movies even

I dont really go below B movies after that it gets REALLY stupid "Zombie Strippers" really? I could not watch that without thinking about my sister Except that movie had a better budget than most B-movies, it had actual names in it, sure one is known for Justin's favorite past-time but Robert Englund is not only freddy krueger, he's a classically trained actor

That he is now I have seen the Wishmasters and I thought his role in Urban Legend was excellent

He was excellent in V as well. Zombie Strippers was a good comedy, that's what it was trying for after all. If you thought it was gonna scare you with a title like Zombie Strippers.... Well let's just say... I dunno!

The problem with Chiller's movies isn't that they're Z-grade crap, it's that they tend to be modern, "self-aware" Z-grade crap which sucks all the fun right out of it for me. The old stuff that was cheap and awful had some legitimacy to it, since it was often clear that they weren't necessarily trying to make something shitty, it just worked out that way. The new stuff where some college boys get drunk one night and find a DV camera and "Like, let's make some totally shitty movie dude, it'll be awesome!" just doesn't work at all for me. Crap has to be sincere, otherwise it's just...well, crap.

Never watched Chiller, I'd assume the movies are cut? It's not broadcast in HD (here at least) so looks like shit on my TV. Yep, censored and with commercials. Really not worth watching except to catch the odd episode of Freddy's Nightmares or Friday the 13th: The Series or such. It's not in HD on DirecTV, either.

Tobe Hooper did a good job with the first episodes. I do say of course they should have used better quality media, it just LOOKS cheap.

The F13 series is indeed pretty awful. I haven't caught enough of Freddy's Nightmares in my adult years to really say whether or not it was really worth a shit, though I recall it as being much, much better than the F13 show.
The movies, eh...I like 'em, but I can't defend them too hard. Besides the first the only ones I'd really recommend to anybody not familiar with the series would be Dream Warriors (part 3) and New Nightmare. 2,4,6 are kind of fans-only territory, and part 5 is best forgotten altogether.

I liked the movies a lot, both series, but I grew up in the 80s and slashers were king in horror. Only thing that held my attention more was re-animated dead, be it vampire or zombie. Nightmare really is best as a 3 movie series just like lugnut says. It's not like it's rocket science to follow Freddy's story. Now the TV show IS better than F13 but is far from good. And I love anthology TV shows, probably more than most folks do, but it's just not that good. Of course f13 was atrocious and Jason never showed up WTF is that. At least Freddy made the odd cameo in the stories as well as hosting the show.
But the stronger film series by any stretch is F13.

I'm just glad I'm too old to have grown up with lame shit like fucking Chucky. Eh, I think the first Child's Play holds up quite well. Yeah, the plot is stupid, but what '80s horror franchise isn't? The rest are pretty much worth skipping, though. (Yet both Bride and Seed of Chucky are kind of a lot more fun than they really ought to be.)

Tried it, but turns out you can't enjoy anything like that. At least I couldn't, so why bother?

LED I've enjoyed most of the same movies you've mentioned liking, but yeah my tastes are low-brow. However I'm self-aware enough to realize that

No, but those movies fucking RULE! Arnie and Sly (with a side of JVD) kept me in action-movie bliss as a child (Charles Bronson for some of it as well RIP). They just don't make action stars like that anymore.
