What movies do you not get all the fuss over? Be it from critics, film geeks or John Q. Popcorn. What mediocre "masterpieces" seem to make everyone else go "ooh" and "ah" while only soliciting from you an "eh"? Not for every movie you find overrated, just the ones that have near universal consensus for their incredible greatness that will last through the ages that you don't think ever approach being great.

I've never been too interested in the following:
The Matrix (any of them) Caddyshack Animal House Howard's End (Christ, you think The English Patient is boring???) The Hellraiser series The Nightmare On Elmstreet series Rocky IV (not into that "rah-rah" flag-waving go-America!! propaganda...that and it's a shit film) Citizen Kane (bores me...sorry) Most anything by Wes Anderson Most of what passes as comedies

You people are fucked in the head, Citizen Cain is perfect. I fail to see the appeal in these films whatsoever: Napoleon Dynamite The Hangover Titanic I'm sure I could think of a ton if I put my mind to it. I dug The Hangover for what it was. Most comedies suck and there were laughs to be had. Do you ever leave your elitist brain at the door when you watch movies? ;D

Add The Hangover to my list too. But then again, most comedies are pretty awful.

I agree, it just wasn't all that funny. Had it been, I'd have laughed more. But then again I think a film like Tootsie is what all comedy ought to be, so that's my frame of reference. Take that for what you will, but that's smart writing in my book.

Citizen Kane - I want to like it but it bores the shit out of me.
The Hangover - I kept waiting for it to get funny...it never happened.
My Big Fat Greek Wedding - Usually when a movie goes over well with women I love it too...but I just didn't see what was so special about this.
Nearly everything Julia Roberts has done since Sleeping With The Enemy.
Will Ferrell...his movies and just him in general.

While I hate Roberts, I actually liked Erin Brockovich, but Steven Soderbergh probably had something to do with that.

I don't think she deserved an Oscar for the role. I put that in the "Marisa Tomei? What the fuck?" category.
