If two students out of 40 want to stand up and say the Lords Prayer - that's fine. It's the forcing of the other 38 kids that I have a problem with. They aren't forced anymore. And I don't think they should be. Well it shouldn't have ever been an issue of forcing. Religion should be a stay at home or chuch activity. It has no place in society.

Well the country was founded with strong roots in christianity.....I guess some felt the need to have it involved with our youth. I don't know. I do know, that it is always going to be an issue. I don't think you will see what you want to see and that is religion outlawed in our lifetime. It might happen one day who knows.

Our founding fathers actually believed in science and knowledge. Many did not believe in God.

Are you in favor of other religions being freely expressed in all walks of life too? Should Muslim students be allowed to take prayers before class? Should Hindu prayers be part of daily school life in the USA? Is this a Christian only deal?

Yep - so when Michelle Bachmann and Sarah Palin among others bring up what the Founding Fathers would have wanted, they are talking out of their ass. The Founding Fathers would have fucking hated them, most Republicans and the Tea Party if they were alive today.

Lee,
Seriously, why are you a Republican? Forget Obama or any other such crap - what are the overall reasons you support the right and conservative thinking overall? And please make it more than just a financial thing.

Lee, Seriously, why are you a Republican? Forget Obama or any other such crap - what are the overall reasons you support the right and conservative thinking overall? And please make it more than just a financial thing. Well I am not a "right wing" republican. I guarantee you that I lean way less to the right than you do to the left. I did vote for Bill Clinton back in the day. I bet you have never voted Republican. For example..... I believe in a woman's right to choose I believe in same sex marriage I don't believe in God I think the bible is a fictional book But..... I also believe in Reagan's trickle down economics....it works I believe you have to give rich people tax breaks for two reasons....1. they own all the companies that create jobs 2.They already pay most of the income tax in this country. I am against socialism I still believe in America and wouldn't want to live anywhere else. I believe in the death penalty I could go on, but why??

Giving rich people tax breaks doesn't create jobs or inspire them to help the less fortunate 99% of people - we have learned that one the hard way. Even some financial legends smarter than you or I on the matter like Warren Buffett are saying that the rich should absolutely be taxed more. Do you realize how easy it would be to pay for Obamacare or some sort of universal healthcare, if we taxed the rich more, made pot legal and taxed it and many other very simple changes that would bring in an endless supply of money streams, so that everyone can have healthcare without having to go bankrupt to get it. It's blows my mind that people on the right don't find ways to pay for healthcare - because they are countless ways to do it, instead of just complaining about it. Many billions of dollars are wasted on bullshit every year. Maybe some of that money that no one cares about could be better used.

Many billions of dollars are wasted on bullshit every year. Maybe some of that money that no one cares about could be better used. Well I agree about legalizing pot and creating tax revenues. I also agree about wasting money on bullshit every year....every day even. It blows my mind how you guys think we can afford healthcare at this point. As far as Warren Buffet goes, he's a lefty...what's he going to say? And maybe if some of your administration would pay their own taxes it wouldn't look quite so bad asking for an increase. And if we didn't waste so much money and could cut spending, maybe we could look into healthcare at that point. But I disagree about you taxing the rich part. We have to let the private sector create jobs and get us out of this mess. Government is not the way to do it. Too many regulations on businesses and industries, hence the reason we have lost so many jobs to other countries. Also we could drill for oil off of our shores and in Alaska. That would create a ton of jobs, let alone help us get off of foreign oil. Why does the left oppose drilling so bad?? We need jobs.
