I am not the biggest Rush fan, but I do like music documentaries. So you huge Rush fans, is this documentary worth watching for the casual or even non-fan?

Yes. Julie doesn't much like them and she enjoyed the doc. Very much for both fans and non-fans.

John already answered this for me but I'll reiterate. I like all of about 5 Rush songs (which is a big step after years of out and out loathing them) but I really enjoyed the documentary, they have a good sense of perspective about their career (read: understand a large part of the population has no idea who the fuck they are) and come across as very humble, funny and charming.

My wife and I watched this tonight and we both loved it. It was a Fantastic documentary - very entertaining and funny, even though we are both not really Rush fans.

There's an extended scene of the end sequence where they're at dinner and it's great. You can see them getting drunker and drunker as the night goes on. I think they down 6 or 7 bottles of wine. Good stuff.
My favorite part is when, in the car on the way to dinner, Sam Dunn asks them why they do it after all these years and without a moment's pause Alex deadpans: "The chicks." Those kinds of things are the reasons why their fans love them so much. Rush has a rep for pretense, but no one takes them less seriously than they do themselves....
I must also say that the Foo Fighter documentary Back & Forth is excellent and may even be better IMO. Also worth watching.

Oh and props to Billy Corgan, who I thought offered some really GOOD insights without being TOO serious. Felt very sincere to me. I didn't expect his answers to be so....good. It almost made up for Jack Black and Sebastian Bach's overwhelming stupidity.
