The American Cancer Society turned down a half a million dollar donation from a secular group (atheists, agnostics, etc.) known as the Foundation Beyond Belief.

i can't play the video where i'm at, but did they reject the donation BECAUSE they're athiests, or because they feel the group is too radical/militant? if it's the former, that's just ridiculous on so many levels......maybe they should reject donations altogether & wait for the man upstairs to wave a magic wand instead?

Well, it's unclear why they did it. The guess is that they didn't want to be associated with atheists/seculars in any way.
Bad PR and such.
Sad.
