So what's the latest? Wasn't Vinnie supposed to have some release and a gig in February? It's now February 10, so shouldn't it be happening soon? I didn't realistically think anything would happen; just calling out more BS with his asinine big announcements. I haven't really followed. Maybe someone else will chime in. Do something hard rock and post that. Maybe do a 2024 version of the solo for Turn Up The Radio. Don't play with the song though - just do the solo.

This was posted in November, and in the description it says first show in February. Of course with Vinnie, that could've meant February, 2030. I'm about ready to make some more videos. I didn't say anything, but I had a little mishap and caught a jump rope handle in the lower lip. It cut it pretty badly, and bled like crazy. I thought I knocked out teeth, as my teeth were covered in blood. It was just a freak accident. I wasn't accustomed to jumping with gloves, and I lost a handle. But the show must go on, and it did!

Then again it won't be an issue for quite some time. It's back to warm weather.

At this stage, it's not even funny, it's pathetic.
But from what little I follow this train wreck, I think the kool-aid drinkers who still believe his grandiose announcements have dwindled to next to nothing. So probably not too many people out of the money they paid.
Way too many false alarms; it's well past the boy who cried wolf.
Since this thread was started to demonstrate how easy it is to release a video, here's one I did yesterday, featuring a favorite song from Wang Chung.

He needs to make the money and even if the number of people keeps getting smaller, there are people who will continue to go to these things. Cool video. I love the Wang Chung soundtrack album To Live And Die In LA. Great movie and the music works so well for it.

That's the main reason I disagree with his enablers; in the long run, they aren't helping him. I've been reading up on social security - I'm not that far away! One can start collecting at 62, but it one waits until 65, or better 70, they will receive a higher monthly check. I have no idea if Vinnie lived off his wife, and only started collecting after she passed. To Live and Die in LA is a superb composition.

I guess you could teach guitar for as long as you are physically and mentally able to do so. Only thing that might get in the way is that young people may not want to learn guitar from a 70 year old. They want a relatively young cool teacher. That is if there is still a demand to learn the guitar in the coming years. Is Social Security enough to live on? I have no idea as a Canadian what is the most people can get monthly on SS.

I could pound the pavement more, but right now I don't have to; so I don't! I don't know a lot about social security. I do believe it's adjusted for cost of living. With multiple bankruptcies and judgments against, I doubt Vinnie owns anything. If he owned a home, he might have a homestead exemption; but I believe the house with the big fence and turd in the shower got foreclosed. So he just needs to keep a roof over his head and eat. I would imagine social security covers that; but his lifestyle will be bare bones at best.

It is fucked up, but I have to believe that Neil has actually heard something and he was impressed even if no one else would be. I can't believe he is just going along with the grift and he knows that Vinnie doesn't have a new album. I hope so anyway.

Typically if one will lie about one thing, he'll lie about another. Vinnie is what the old time mobsters used to call a confidence man. Because these hangers-on are so enamored with Kiss, Vinnie can charm their socks off. They want to believe so badly, but every one of them has gotten burned. I just detest how phony the entire charade is. Vinnie put on the leather pants, donned the wig, grabbed the Les Paul, made the 'serious artist' face, got the hot chick 'reporter,' posed in an actual recording studio, etc. Yet two years later, we still haven't heard a note? He could've made a YouTube Short with that guitar in 10 seconds, but he vehemently refuses.

You should challenge Vinnie to a cutting heads duel Crossroads style with Steve Vai and Ralph Macchio.

You should challenge Vinnie to a cutting heads duel Crossroads style with Steve Vai and Ralph Macchio. Didn't we kind of already do that when you joined the Vinnie forum? Shredding is not my forte, and I think head-cuttin' more often than not is nothing more than a jerk-off contest. But I'd be on board for the train wreck, sure! Give me 3-4 weeks training, and I could get my shred game respectable. But one caveat - I'm not going to get played by this con artist, like countless others. I'm working on another album for this year, and don't want to take time away from that for some Vinnie thing that I have zero confidence will ever happen. So the shoe is on the other foot. I want a $5,000 deposit, completely refundable after the event.

I'm not going to pile on now that the truth is out there, thanks to the video Frehley's Vomit posted.
The exiled singer affirmed everything most with an iota of common sense could ascertain from what little video evidence there is.
Vinnie can't play.
I used to watch videos of addicts in Kensington/Philly. It's a tragic situation, for sure. Many actually have family who love and care for them, but they refuse to enable them.
Vinnie has issues.
Letting him continue with his delusions is like addicts being enabled. People do care for him, and help is available.
But he needs to make the first step, and people must stop enabling him.

From the little I saw at CreaturesFest, he can still play, but not to any impressive level anymore. He's comparable to any dad band hack player...and playing most KISS songs isn't all that hard. The entirety of his shredd wankfest was mindless slop. He only played an extended solo in I Love It Loud, then he had Bruce and Ace handle all the leads in the shared tunes. The most 'impressive' thing I heard was him and Bruce do the added outro they used to do at the end of Black Diamond. It's somewhat melodic and works off the other player...but it's not exactly anything advanced.
I would say Vinnie is incapable of playing VVI solos accurately at this point...but with a little practice, he could probably pull off most the KISS stuff. But regardless, it's all moot since he doesn't seem confident or comfortable enough to play anything bigger than his half dozen people salad parties...and even those seem to take a lot of effort to get him to actually show up for half the time.

I just find it surreal he cant just get a band together and tour once a year or two, he'd make more $$$ than Salad Party's, Or the problem is he cant play anymore or nobody wants to manage and work with him full time. I mean just working with the guy during Creaturefest with VV changing everything n shit but of been exausting.
I HAD 2 HAVE A FUCKING DRINK JUST WATCHING THAT TRAINWRECK!!!

However I will watch the video to get full context. Is this guy bitter at all in your view?

However I will watch the video to get full context. Is this guy bitter at all in your view? No, and I don't think anything he says is unreasonable. His interpretation is based on Vinnie's major reluctance to play anything and the little he did play, is that he's seemingly not capable. And it's not an unfair assumption. Like I said, I dont think Vinnie could play his wankfest shredding from VVI and have it sound 'good' or accurate. But I do think he could play Lick It Up with even a little preparation. I'm as mediocre as they come on guitar and I could play Lick It Up competently. Now jamming it out with improv-ing and random leads is above my limited ability...but whatever. To sit on the fence, any guitarist (or musician) that can play well above average isn't wrong to say he can't play anymore. Anyone that isn't a musician isn't wrong to say he can. They're both right to an extent... And to be fair, I don't know to what extent he's still capable of playing on an acoustic and such. It's pretty clear he doesn't have whatever chops he once had when it comes to his shredding nonsense, but playing an acoustic is mostly a different skill-set than soloing. He didn't really show anything at the Gene Vault thing. Whether that was because he can't, nerves, or otherwise...I don't know. But I believe...I can't remember his name, the fed-up Vinnie fan that signed up here, said he attended a salad-bash and said he played songs on acoustic to a competent level. I didn't see it so I can neither confirm or deny... Edit: just saw him post on FAQ...drmoorejr...and he sorta said similar to what I said above.

No offense to any of VINNIE'S ANGEL'S but My Cat SNOWBALL could play LICK IT UP on Guitar, I don't think he can play any of the COTN solos note 4 note or the VVI stuff, If he was capable of playing with a band he would be touring instead of handful of people doing "Lunch Buffet's". Its sad but true, Hey I love COTN/LIU they are in my all time Top 10 KISS albums (always has/always will) but just like with ROS FUCKING RADLEY and that fake ass MAGICally nothing BOOK I too got scammed from VV and waiting for the Box Set, fuck Im never buying anything again until I know the product has shipped and 1 of you guys here or on KISSFAQ has received the item and/or a fan on Youtube unboxing it.

He seemed entirely reasonable and there is no real reason to doubt what he is saying. Of course it is his speculation that Vinnie can't play - like why else would this be happening and that is certainly fair. I don't think anyone thought that Vinnie still had the goods, but what people have been trying to determine is how badly he has deteriorated with different reports coming from various people unfortunately. I have seen some fans say that he still has the goods after attending one of his soup and sandwich shows. I think it goes without saying that if he was still really good - he would be gladly showing that off. The only exception to that would be if he honestly some sort of mental issue that is just preventing him from wanting to fully pull the curtain back. There is probably a combination there. He can somewhat play - not at a level to impress anyone, however if he agreed to doing a few shows - he could pull off playing KISS songs with some rehearsal prior. However he can't do the VVI stuff anymore or shred with competency and that's what he doesn't want people to know - so he remains secretive so that the guitar nerds that still love him won't know the truth. I think there is much more to it than just simply saying he can't play, but that is a factor.

It's not just what you say, it's how you say it.
It seems in Kiss World, all the hangers-on follow Gene's lead of being brash and arrogant. It may work for Gene, but it hasn't worked for anyone else - Curt Gooch, Steve Brown, Ros Radley, 3 Sides, Bob Kulick, and of course, Vinnie.
Kiss fans are a special breed and are fiercely loyal. All of the above guys could be heroes among Kiss fans; but they've all burned bridges with their out-of-control egos.
Despite the box set fiasco, everyone forgave Vinnie. The goodwill after Atlanta was palpable. If he had been humble and contrite, no one would've cared that his playing had deteriorated.
But he couldn't do that.
He had to brag about practicing seven hours a day, promised 2 box sets to all who purchased, had a dream A-list band with Carmine Appice and Tony Franklin fall in his lap, as well as a gig at historic Graceland - only he cancelled, after many spent big bucks on plane tickets and hotel rooms, including Julian, if memory serves.
And it only got worse. Vinnie pulled yet another fast one at the much-hyped Creaturesfest, backed out of a cancer benefit, continued his egomaniacal delusions posting at message boards, started charging an exorbitant fee to view his Facebook page, unceremoniously fired a pro singer, only to hire another, who he coaxed into filming a promo video for yet another show he backed out of.
Like with the current kerfuffle with Steve Brown, it's Vinnie's arrogance that has people against him; which is sad, because if either could muster even an iota of humility, fans would be singing their praises loudly.
As for Vinnie playing, Kiss songs are very simple, especially some of the Vinnie era ones. War Machine can be played with one finger; I Love It Loud with two.
And despite Vinnie's egotistical Pyro Messiah baloney, fans still would've gone nuts hearing him play them. But he couldn't even do that.
It is a sad situation, but it is self-inflicted.

He has actually achieved FAR more career wise than Tuff Stevie - both with the 80's band he was in and beyond, but you seem to give Stevie a pass from his attention whoring and ego over the years for some reason. As for Vinnie, doesn't everyone deserve a second chance? I think there is more at play here with Vinnie when it comes to his mental health and I don't say that in a mocking sense, but I don't think he is sitting at home laughing at the people he has scammed yet again. Not that this an excuse for taking people's money and fucking them over, but I actually do feel sorry for him in a way, because I think he clearly has problems and can't help himself.
